Discover Morel Foraging.  5:30 PM to 7 PM.  Join five-time National Morel Picking Champion Anthony Williams at the Jackson District Library Brooklyn Branch as he explains how, where, when, and why to find morels. This presentation also includes morel-picking stories and folklore! No registration required. About the Presenter: The Williams family has been picking morels in Northern Michigan since the 1890s, and Anthony's pickin' advice has been proven to be enlightening for everyone from novice to seasoned pro. After winning the National Morel Hunting Championship five years in a row, Anthony retired undefeated from competitive picking to become the "Expert in Residence" for the National Morel Festival.  Brooklyn Branch, Jackson District Library. Jump into a warp pipe and visit the worlds of Mario, Pac-Man, Animal Crossing, and more during Spring Break week at the library - March 27 - April 5! To begin your adventure, register for the Spring Break challenge in Beanstack. This is where you will track your progress, explore what's new this year, and earn grand prize entries.  Choose your play style:  You can complete your adventure with any combination of in-person and online activities - just make sure to record your progress for all activities in Beanstack. In-Person - Visit as many of our 13 library branches as you like to complete activities and collect buttons from each location. Activities are available until 30 minutes before each library closes during the week of Spring Break. Online - Sometimes all you need to travel is your imagination! Jackson County Free Museum Day Returns for 9th Annual Event

(April 2, 2026 11:21 AM ET) Multiple Jackson County, Michigan museums will be open to the public, free of charge on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for Experience Jackson’s 9th Annual Jackson County FREE Museum Day. Fifteen participating locations will host activities, which offer a combination of “open-house style” receptions, self-guided tours, food trucks, kid-friendly activities and historic demonstrations. As a special add-on for the 2026 event, each participating museum has a uniquely designed location sticker. The first 50 visitors to each museum will receive a FREE sticker, specific to that location.
