Hilderley, Shannon to Play for JCWGA Match Play Championship

By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (July 13, 2022 6:31 PM) Local golfer Andrea Clark said last year after winning the Jackson County Womens Golf Association Match Play Championship one of the young players would defeat her on the course at some point. It was Wednesday. Lumen Christi Catholic High School golfer Ashley Hilderley defeated Clark 2-and-1 in the JCWGA Match Play Championship at Sharp Park Golf Course. Clark had won 13 consecutive match play titles and 16 overall in the tournament. Hilderley will face Kamryn Shannon in the final. Shannon and Natalie Kulka – two of the best young golfers in Jackson – went head to head for 18 holes. Kulka’s caddy said Shannon shot a 7-under-par 64 on the day and Kulka finished with a 68 on the par 71 course. Shannon won 2-up in the 18-hole match. Hilderley and Shannon will tee it up at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow at Sharp Park for the championship title. Deb Falk and Kathy Swihart won matches in the first flight to advance to Thursday’s finals beginning at 7:46; Sue Daniels will face Sandy Straka for the championship in the second flight beginning at 8:10;…
