Jackson College Applied Technology Center Ribbon cutting 2-16-2026. The new state-of-the-art Applied Technology Center represents a significant step forward in advancing Jackson College’s mission to support regional workforce and economic development while expanding its utilities programs. Developed in collaboration with key industry partners, the Applied Technology Center features flexible, innovative learning spaces that provide hands-on, real-world training opportunities. The facility includes two program “bay” areas, one with an extra-tall roof to accommodate indoor utility poles. An outdoor training area supports a variety of utility work, including burying cables and operating a bucket truck. Toys for Tots 12-4-2025 | Photo Gallery

Toys for Tots 12-4-2025. 806 E. Pearl St. Jackson, Mi 49201. A collaboration between The Salvation Army and the U.S. Marine Corps to collect new, unwrapped toys for children up to age 14. Donations can be dropped off at the Jackson Police Department, 216 E. Washing Ave. (Mon-Fri, 7am to 5pm) through December 15th. To volunteer for Salvation Army Toys for Tots in Jackson, MI, visit the local Salvation Army website and look for their specific holiday volunteer sign-up links. Poetry Out Loud @ Jackson College 12-4-2025 | Photo Gallery

Poetry Out Loud 12-4-2025. Jackson College invites area high school students to participate in a dynamic poetry recitation competition. The winner of JC’s local competition will advance to the state Poetry Out Loud competition in Lansing in March 2026 (precise dates TBD). The state champion will receive $200 and will advance to the national finals next spring in Washington, D.C., where $50,000 in awards and school/organizational stipends will be distributed.
