(8-6-2025, 4:00PM): – Leslie High School put themselves back on the map in the state of Michigan for football in 2024.

The Blackhawks won their first ever Cascades Conference championship, finished 10-2 overall and won their first district title since 2008.

HC Tim McCann is returning for his third year with the Blackhawks. Offensive coordinator Travis Crowe also returns for his third season.

Key returning players include Junior QB Joel Cranmore. Cranmore was the #2 passer in the state last season, scoring 46 touchdowns and throwing for 2,682 yards. Other returners include juniors Braydin Johnson (WR/DB) and Jackson Fossitt (TE/DE), and seniors Hudson Philips (OL/DL), Braden Romero (RB/S), and Evan Dexter (OLB).

Newcomers expected to make an impact include sophomore Zak Hardesty (OL/DL), who is the strongest on the team and started as a freshman.

Goals for this season include winning back-to-back conference titles and playing on thanksgiving weekend (Ford Field, state championship).

“We are one, we are family and love each other” said the players. “What you learn in sports is how to believe in yourself and trust other people to do their job”.
