(July 16, 2025 4:14 PM ET) The City of Jackson announced today that beginning on or about Monday, July 21, 2025, Brown Street through Sparks Foundation County Park (from Denton Road to High Street) will be closed for construction.
This project, on Brown Street from Denton Road to High Street, will include the following:
• Upgrade of concrete sidewalk ramps
• Removal of pavement surface with a mill
• Repaving the pavement surface with new hot mix asphalt
• Replacement of traffic control signing and pavement stripes
All work is scheduled to be completed and the street opened to traffic by the end of August 2025.
During the closure period, advanced warning and detour route signing will be erected to direct Brown Street traffic around the construction zone along a Kibby Road to West Avenue to Morrell Street route. During the construction period, the public parking on Randolph Street and Denton Road will remain accessible as will the driveways to the Cascades Ice Cream Company.
