(August 31, 2022 10:40 AM) The official Bright Walls Mural Festival map has been released.  Bright Walls announced today the 2022 Festival, Bright Walls-The Finale, will take place primarily in a two block area of Downtown Jackson bordered by South Jackson Street, Michigan Avenue, Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Cortland Street. 32 murals will be created inside and around the festival area by artists from around the world during the four-day event running September 8-11, 2022.  The festival has designated two entrances at Michigan and Mechanic and Cortland and Mechanic.  Two stages, the Main Stage (between Lean Rocket Lab and the U.S. Post Office)  and the Alley Stage (between the Chase Sports Bar and Ogma Brewing Co.) will feature entertainment from more than 30 acts, including headliners Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers, Your Generation in Concert, The Fresh Kids of Bel-Air, The Verve Pipe, and The Fab Four – Ultimate Beatles Tribute. (August 30, 2022 5:46 PM) The Bright Walls Mural Festival has announced the concert schedule for Bright Walls-The Finale, September 8-11, 2022.  The final Bright Walls Mural Festival is planning its most ambitious entertainment program with 30 acts performing on two stages during the four-day festival.  The majority of concerts are free, but new this year, 3 headline concerts will be ticketed events. Tickets for these headline concerts are being sold individually or in a three-day pass for all shows. The Main Stage concerts begin on Thursday, September 8 with Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers at 7 PM, following the opening event, Bright Paws Dog Parade & Pageant (at 5:30 PM)  with DJ Just Dre.  This event is free admission. On Friday night, September 9, Bright Walls presents Michigan’s best tribute band, Your Generation In Concert, with classic rockin' opener Jackson’s own Blackstone Steel. (July 1, 2022 12:27 PM) The 2022 Bright Walls Mural Festival, The Finale, is scheduled for September 8-11, 2022 in Downtown Jackson.  Bright Walls is a public art and mural festival founded and run by volunteer members of the Jackson Young Professionals. Bright Walls began in 2018 and organizers are promising the fifth and final festival this year will be the best. The Festival is run entirely by volunteers with financial support from sponsors and community members.  This year, Bright Walls has been given an opportunity by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to conduct a crowdfunding campaign that will be matched by the MEDC.  The campaign must raise $50,000 by July 12 in order to get the 100% match.  With 12 days to go, the campaign still needs to raise $6,295.   Today, Bright Walls founder and co-director Clay McAndrews issued an appeal for donations.  “We are so close to our goal of $50,000, that if we meet it will be matched by the MEDC,” McAndrews said. “Some might say…
