(June 19, 2025 5:94 PM ET) Explore our nearest star when the Astronomical Observatory at Jackson College invites the public to Solar Spotlight, an engaging educational event examining the wonders of the sun. Join us from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, in James McDivitt Hall, Room 151. If the weather permits, viewing will be available afterward at the observatory. The Solar Spotlight event offers visitors the opportunity to discover fascinating facts about the sun through interactive activities and demonstrations. While the program is designed to engage participants of all ages, the content is particularly well-suited for ages 12 and above. Families, students, astronomy enthusiasts, and curious community members are all welcome to attend. "Solar Spotlight represents our commitment to making astronomy accessible and exciting for our community," said Travis Marlow, observatory coordinator.
