Shinola Featured on Global Great Lakes
Detroit manufacturer Shinola is the single subject on this week’s episode of “Global Great Lakes” on JTV. “Global Great Lakes” covers manufacturing businesses in the Great Lakes region enjoying success in the new economy. Now in its third season, this is the first Detroit manufacturer to be featured on the show. In this episode, the JTV cameras visit the 30,000 square foot watch-manufacturing floor of Shinola in the historic Argonaut Building, housed within the College of Creative Studies. Master watchmaker Stefan Mihoc provides a tour of the meticulous hand-assembly lines. Also featured: An interview with Shinola CEO Steve Bock discussing the short history of the company, the challenges of finding and developing talent and the reasons for choosing Detroit.
