Bradley Scores 24 as Pirates Win 2nd Straight Conference Title

David Rice | JTV Sports Saturday February 17th What started out as a close and nail biting first half, ended up being all Napoleon in the second half on Saturday night at Spring Arbor University for the Cascades Conference Championship. Three different Hanover Horton players scored in the opening quarter, Jerry Linabury along with the dynamic duo of Luke Soper with four and Logan Blackledge added six points. Carson Godfrey nailed two three-pointers in the opening quarter for the Pirates and Holden VanPoppel added four points as they took a 14-12 lead after 1. The second quarter continued to be back and forth. Logan Blackledge scored five straight and two others scored for the Comets late in the second quarter. Holden VanPoppel had four points off two steals before the half, making it 25-23 in favor of the Comets going into the locker room. The second half was a much different story, as Grant Bradley (who recently returned from a football injury) turned the game around for the Pirates and never looked back.
