Greer has more than a decade of coaching experience from his time at Northwest High School. The Jayhawks are coming off the school’s first season in 8-man football. Vandercook Lake was 4-2 in 2020 playing an independent schedule in 8-man football. Vandercook was 1-17 in 11-man football the two previous seasons before 2020. VCL will compete in the 8-man Tri-River Eight Conference, with Grand Rapids North Pointe Christian, Vermontville Maple Valley, Britton Deerfield, and Concord. “Our goals are to get better at the fundamentals of football as well as installing the brand of football we want to be known for,” Greer said. Greer expects the Jayhawks to use a triple option football to get the ball into the hands of the best athletes on the team.
