The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $1 million to the Center for Family Health to build a new medical home in Hillsdale.

The grant is part of a $260 million funding package announced May 4 for renovation, expansion, or construction projects at 290 community health centers in 45 states.

It will help finance construction of a new building for Center for Family Health—Hillsdale, a federally qualified health center that delivers quality primary care to all patients, regardless of ability to pay.

Center for Family Health—Hillsdale opened 10 months ago in temporary quarters at 240 W. Carleton Road. A permanent building is in early planning stages.

“We are appreciative of this funding opportunity for Hillsdale,” said Molly Kaser, president and CEO of the Center for Family Health. “We opened in Hillsdale last August and have received a warm welcome from the community. We look forward to discussing ways in which this grant can help us expand our services and better serve the people of Hillsdale County.”
