BASEBALL

Kellogg CC 18, Jackson College 4

Springport 14, Reading 1: Ripken Overweg drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Spartans in game one. Three others for Springport also batted two hits including Andon Zienert who earned the pitching win, allowing just one hit in four innings.

Springport 19, Reading 3: Gibson Overweg dominated at the plate to lead the Spartans to a sweep, batting 4-4 with 4 RBIs in game two. Overweg also took a win on the mound, throwing six strikeouts and no hits allowed in his three innings. Springport improves to 8-1 overall.

Concord 5, Vermontville Maple Valley 3: Four runs in the 3rd inning for the Yellowjackets helped them take a Big 8 win at home on Tuesday. Five different players combined for the Jackets’ five hits. Gavin Riske earned the win on the mound, throwing six strikeouts.

Vermontville Maple Valley 9, Concord 6

Lumen Christi 10, Cardinal Mooney 8: The Titans scored two runs in the 6th inning to take the lead and win game one. Harrison Botke and Wes Learned each batted two hits for LC, and Benny Gaston added a hit with three RBIs.

Lumen Christi 15, Cardinal Mooney 1: Benny Gaston drove in five runs on two hits to help the Titans sweep the doubleheader. Wes Learned batted 3-4 with 2 RBIs, and also earned the pitching win with 9 strikeouts thrown. LC improves to 6-2 overall.

Parma Western 9, Coldwater 8: A walkoff 2-RBI double by Chase Budd won it for the Panthers in game one, Budd drove in five total runs on his two hits. Brody Parrott batted 3-3 with an RBI.

Parma Western 7, Coldwater 0: Isaiah Norwood and Lincoln Levy each batted two hits for the Panthers. Brody Parrott threw a no-hitter on the mound, earning the pitching win. Western improves to 6-0-1 overall.

Lumen Christi 4, MH Bishop Foley 0: Mallory Arcaro batted the only hit for the Titans in game one. Bella Wrozek had a monster performance in the circle, throwing 17 strikeouts and allowing just one hit.

Lumen Christi 3, MH Bishop Foley 2: LC scored all three of its runs in the 3rd inning. Lucy Wrozek batted 2 for 3, and Bree Okoniewski earned the pitching win with six strikeouts. LC improves to 6-0 overall.

Springport 10, Reading 1: Brooklyn Love batted 3-4 with 2 RBIs to lead the Spartans in game one. Ashlyn Underhill, Peyton Collier, and SaRayah Stewart each added two hits. Morgan Shoemaker had a dominant performance in the circle, throwing a whopping 19 strikeouts and allowing just one hit.

Springport 16, Reading 0: Peyton Collier and SaRayah Stewart each batted two hits to lead the Spartans to a Big 8 sweep at home. Ashlyn Underhill earned the pitching win, throwing six strikeouts in four innings. Springport improves to 4-0 overall.
