BASEBALL

Onsted 7, Grass Lake 5: It was a rematch from a regional semifinal game last season at Onsted HS on Monday. Two runs in the 6th inning by Onsted helped take game one over the Warriors, GL was still able to outhit the Wildcats 10-5. Gavin Killinger, Collin Knight, and Brayden Wayne each batted two hits for the Warriors.

 

Grass Lake 11, Onsted 11: After a back-and-forth game one, the two teams tied in the four-inning second game. Gavin Killinger led the Warriors lineup with two hits and two RBIs, and Manny Schafran added a hit with three RBIs. GL is now 9-2-1 overall.

 

Hanover Horton 8, Homer 1: The bottom of the lineup carried the Comets in game one. Aidan Zeffery batted 3-3 with an RBI, and Nolan Arbuckle batted 2-4. Lukas NaDell earned the pitching win.

 

Hanover Horton 6, Homer 5: The Comets scored three runs in the 6th inning to earn a comeback win at home and sweep the doubleheader. Lukas NaDell batted 3-4 with 2 RBIs for HH. Nolan Arbuckle and Aidan Zeffery each added two hits. HH is now 7-4 overall.

 

Jackson 10, Ypsilanti Community 0: Spencer Bush and Joey Ortiz both had monster games to lead the Vikings in game one. Bush batted 3-3 with 3 RBIs. Ortiz batted 3-4 with an RBI, and threw a no-hitter on the mound with 12 strikeouts.

 

Jackson 16, Ypsilanti Community 1: Jackson scored 15 runs in the 2nd inning to help force a 3-inning mercy rule and sweep the Grizzlies. Eight different batters combined for the Vikings’ eight hits. Jackson improves to 6-10 overall.

 

Napoleon 12, Hillsdale 2: Tyler Nall batted 3-3 with an RBI to lead the Pirates. Grant Straub, Issac Carrofino and Zavier Skog each added two hits. Napoleon improves to 6-4 overall.

 

Columbia Central 2, Cass City 0: Noah Dankert batted 2-3 with an RBI to lead the Golden Eagles in the non-conference single game. Dankert also earned the win on the mound, throwing six strikeouts and allowing just two hits. CC improves to 9-2 overall.

 

SOFTBALL

Hanover Horton 9, Homer 7: Amanda Ley had an exceptional performance to lead the Comets in game one. Ley drove in four runs on two hits and earned the pitching win with seven strikeouts. Kendall Bevier batted 2-3 with an RBI.

 

Homer 11, Hanover Horton 5: Homer scored five runs in the 1st inning and held onto the lead to split the conference doubleheader. Holly Zantop led the Comets with two hits. HH is now 7-3 overall, and Homer is now 5-5.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

Springport 8, Vermontville Maple Valley 0

Columbia Central 3, Leslie 0

Manchester 2, Michigan Center 0

Lenawee Christian 4, Jackson Christian 3

 

Parma Western 1, Plymouth Christian 1: Lola Berdiner scored the goal for the Panthers, and Jillian Barnes had the assist. Western remains undefeated and will host I-8 opponent Coldwater on Wednesday.

 

Grass Lake 6, Hanover Horton 0: Adelynn Kidd led the way with three goals for the Warriors. Adeline Stormont dished three assists, and three other Warriors scored three goals.

 

Napoleon 8, Jonesville 0: Lily Eagen led the Pirates with a five goal and two assist performance. Alessia Romagnuolo had 1 save and registered her first shutout in goal for Napoleon.
