BASEBALL

Springport 11, Reading 0 – Drew Sanford dominated on the mound for SHS, striking out 12 batters and allowing just two hits in 6 innings. Drew Kregel went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs at the plate.

Springport 8, Reading 0 – Gibson Overweg struck out 12 batters and allowed just two hits in 7 innings for the Spartans.

 

Northwest 6, Hastings 5 – The Mounties scored two runs in the 7th inning to rally and win the first game. Avery Anspaugh went 3-for-5 batting.

Northwest 5, Hastings 3 – Three runs in the 5th inning helped NWHS sweep the conference doubleheader.

Concord 26, Maple Valley 11 – Concord had a total of 17 hits in the game, with 6 different batters finishing with at least two hits. Jordayn Metcalf went 4-for-4 with 3 RBIs at the plate.

Concord 19, Maple Valley 2 – Hannah Stimer went 4-for-4 with 7 RBIs for the Yellowjackets. CHS sweeps the doubleheader and improves to 6-7.

 

Springport 14, Reading 2 – Morgan Shoemaker hit two home runs and drove in five as SHS defeated Reading on Tuesday. Shoemaker homered in the second and fourth innings. Shoemaker struck out 12 batters on the day. The pitcher also gave up five hits and two runs over five innings while walking two.

Springport 6, Reading 4 – Ashlyn Underhill struck out 13 batters as the hurler led the Spartans past the Rangers on Tuesday. SHS didn’t take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the fifth when Peyton Collier was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

 

Northwest 13, Hastings 1 – Ava Golightly went 4-for-4 batting for the Mounties. Lucy Bivens struck out 11 batters and allowed just one hit pitching.

Northwest 15, Hastings 2 – NW collected 16 hits in the second game of the doubleheader. Madi Dixon and Ava Golightly each had 3 hits as NWHS improves to 7-2.

 

Lumen Christi 12, Ovid-Elsie 1 – Bella Wrozek struck out 13 batters to earn the pitching win. Lucy Wrozek paced the offense with 3 hits while 6 other Titans hitters had 2 hits.

Lumen Christi 11, Ovid-Elsie 1 – Ollie Powers continued the strong pitching with 10 strikeouts while only giving up 1 hit. Bree Okoniewski, Codi Ruge, and Alison Furnas each had 2 hits.

BOYS GOLF

I-8 Jamboree at Western (Arbor Hills): Western finished in 2nd place as a team, shooting 314. Northwest shot a 316 which was good for 3rd place. Jake Brafford won individually, shooting a 73.

Jackson, Monroe at AA Skyline: Jackson dominated to take 1st place, winning by 40 strokes (164) as a team. Leo Nguyen finished in 2nd with a 39.

Big 8 at Stockbridge (Timber Trace): Springport finished in 2nd place by one shot, shooting 188 total. Concord finished 5th with a 220.

Vandercook Lake Jamboree (Ella Sharp): Napoleon and Michigan Center tied for 1st as a team, shooting 192. Cayne Hays of MC won individually, shooting a 42.

Leslie Jamboree (Hankerd Hills): Hanover Horton took home 1st place, winning by 15 strokes with a 157. Hoyt Wrona of HHHS shot a -1 on the day (35).

BOYS – Grass Lake 70, Napoleon 67

GIRLS – Grass Lake 83, Napoleon 53

BOYS – Western 122.5, Hastings 37.5

GIRLS – Western 96, Hastings 67

Northwest, Marshall at Coldwater: Northwest fell to both teams in boys and girls on Tuesday.
