BASEBALL
Columbia Central 18, Manchester 0: CC scored 12 runs in the 3rd inning to put the game away and force a 3-inning mercy rule. Five different Golden Eagles batted two hits including Lukas Calhoun who drove in four runs and Sammy Truax driving in three.
Columbia Central 15, Manchester 0: The Golden Eagles scored all 15 of their runs in the first inning to force another mercy rule and sweep the Dutch. Noah Dankert and Lukas Calhoun each batted two hits. CC is now 11-2 overall and has won five straight games.
Michigan Center 4, Hanover Horton 3: The Cardinals scored a run to take the lead in the 5th inning, and that ultimately won game one for them. Davin DeLise hit an RBI single to bring in the run for MC.
Vandercook Lake 8, East Jackson 5: Despite one hit all game, the Jayhawks scored all eight of their runs in the 7th inning to complete an incredible rally to win game one. Tanner Sildak batted the hit for VCL. David Arbogast earned the pitching win with 11 strikeouts.
Vandercook Lake 3, East Jackson 2: Darius Stephens batted a hit from a fielder’s choice in the 6th inning, which helped score the leading run as VCL held on to win and sweep the Trojans. Vandercook improves to 5-8 overall.
Grass Lake 14, Jonesville 6: Manny Schafran batted 3-4 with 2 RBIs to lead the Warriors. Gavin Killinger and Chase Laughlin each added two hits, and Noah Orban earned the pitching win.

Napoleon 12, Homer 7: AJ Buckley and Tyler Nall each batted two hits to lead the Pirates, with Nall also earning the win on the mound.
Jackson 31, Ypsilanti Community 0: No typo here, a whopping 31 runs were scored by the Vikings in the single game on 17 hits. Jackson also threw a no-hitter in the 3-inning mercy rule. Joseph Walraven and Brady Curtis each batted three hits for Jackson, and four others batted two hits. Jackson improves to 7-10 overall and has won three straight.
Lumen Christi 13, Chelsea 0: Kellen Crowley, Benny Gaston, and Harrison Botke each batted three hits for the Titans including six RBIs from Gaston. Logan Hetherington earned the win on the hill, allowing three hits in five innings. LC is now 10-2 overall with nine straight wins.

SOFTBALL
Marshall 8, Parma Western 7
Marshall 11, Parma Western 3
Columbia Central 11, Manchester 0: Four different players batted two hits for the Golden Eagles including two RBIs from both Camden Knapp and Leelyn Brown. Hailey Wetherby earned the pitching win with seven strikeouts.
Columbia Central 15, Manchester 0: Hailey Wetherby drove in seven runs on three hits to lead the Golden Eagles to a sweep. Kelsey Fausz also batted three hits, and Camden Knapp batted 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Knapp also got the win in the circle, throwing a no-hitter in four innings. CC is still unbeaten at 12-0 overall.
Grass Lake 13, Jonesville 0: Lily McVicker and Makenzie Hilberer each batted three hits to lead the Warriors. Leilah Smith and Morgan Conrad each added two hits, and Conrad had a powerful pitching performance with 11 strikeouts and one hit allowed.
Grass Lake 13, Jonesville 0: Kennedy Collins, Aubrey Demosiuk, and Lily McVicker each batted three hits for GL. Three other Warriors batted two hits and three pitchers combined to allow just one hit in the circle. GL is still undefeated at 11-0 overall. Grass Lake coach Roger Cook surpassed 600 career wins with the doubleheader sweep. The defending state champion coach is also in his 25th season at the helm this year.
Hanover Horton 6, Michigan Center 4: Ava Smith batted 3-4 with 2 RBIs for the Comets, Amanda Ley and Kendall Bevier each added two hits. HH improves to 8-3 overall.
Homer 6, Napoleon 5: Homer scored two runs in both the 7th and extra 8th inning to take the comeback win over the Pirates. Hayden Rendall and Jada Gallagher each batted two hits for Napoleon. Four different players batted two hits for Homer, the Trojans improved to 6-5. Napoleon falls to 5-5.
Springport 11, Union City 0: Morgan Shoemaker had a dominant performance for the Spartans. Shoemaker batted 3-3 with an RBI, and pitched a complete game with 14 strikeouts and just two hits allowed. Brooklyn Love added two hits and an RBI.
Springport 10, Union City 9: The game was tied in the 7th inning when an error helped score a run for Springport, walking it off and sweeping the Chargers. Ashlyn Underhill batted 3-4 to lead the Spartans. Four other Spartans batted two hits, and Shoemaker earned another pitching win with 12 strikeouts. Springport is now 8-0 overall.

TRACK & FIELD
Big 8 Tri-Meet at Springport: Quincy defeated both Concord and Springport in the boys event, and Concord defeated the Spartans by a score of 79-49. Concord defeated both schools in the girls events. Full results here

Jackson 5, Northwest 3: The Vikings took the win at home over the crosstown rival Mounties. Jackson’s #4 doubles team sealed the match in a three set tiebreaker.
