BASEBALL

Columbia Central 16, Vandercook Lake 0 – Blake Hoskins batted 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Golden Eagles. Tyler Ladd drove in four runs, and Brody Hall allowed just one hit on the mound for CCHS.

Columbia Central 18, Vandercook Lake 0 – Conor Rentfrow went 3-for-3 batting and had 6 RBIs to propel CC. The Golden Eagles allowed no hits pitching.

 

Grass Lake 8, Napoleon 5 – Luke Guthrie batted 2-for-3 for the Warriors. Gavin Killinger and Colin Knight each drove in two runs.

Grass Lake 12, Napoleon 7 – Bryant Cook and Jacob Collins each batted 3-for-4 for GLHS. Brayden Lape had two hits with four RBIs.

 

Hanover Horton 2, Jonesville 0 – Luke Soper struck out 13 batters for the HH Comets. Soper also had two hits to lead the offense in game one.

Hanover Horton 6, Jonesville 2 – Luke Soper batted 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs to lead HHHS.

 

Jackson 17, Ypsilanti 0 – Spencer Bush led the Vikings, batting 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs. Joey Ortiz allowed just two hits in four innings pitched.

Jackson 12, Ypsilanti 0 – Eric Lopez allowed just one hit pitching and struck out 10 batters for JHS as they break a 5-game losing streak.

SOFTBALL

Columbia Central 15, Vandercook Lake 0 – Hailey Wetherby struck out 11 batters to lead CC past Vandercook Lake. Wetherby allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings while walking one. Rylee Knapp went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Columbia Central 22, Vandercook Lake 0 – Raell Bice led the way for the Golden Eagles, batting 2-for-4 with 4 RBIs. Camden Knapp threw a no-hitter and seven strikeouts pitching.

 

Grass Lake 15, Napoleon 0 – Leilah Smith, Emily Brown, and Makenzie Hilberer each had three hits for the Warriors. GL tallied 17 total hits in game one.

Grass Lake 19, Napoleon 4 – Leilah Smith batted 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs for the Warriors, and Bree Salts went 3-for-3 with 6 RBIs.

 

Hanover Horton 10, Jonesville 0 – Halle Swihart drives in five runs to lead the HH comets in game one, and Alexyn DuBois added three hits. DuBois also struck out 11 batters and allowed two hits in the circle.

Hanover Horton 19, Jonesville 5 – Alexyn DuBois continued her exceptional day for HHHS, batting 5-for-5 with 6 RBIs. Halle Swihart added three hits and two RBIs.

 

Michigan Center 14, Leslie 10 – Six runs in the fifth inning was too much for Leslie to overcome as MCHS won a high-scoring first game. Lilly Nutt batted 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs for the Cardinals.

Michigan Center 17, Leslie 16 – MC scored 10 runs in the last two innings to win a high-scoring contest and sweep the Cascades-East doubleheader.

GIRLS SOCCER

Springport 10, Stockbridge 2 – Hattie Gray and Lacey Root each scored three goals to lead the Spartans.

Grass Lake 6, Jonesville 2 – Ilee Robinson scored three goals to lead the Warriors. Taylor Hoppe added two goals and an assist.

BOYS GOLF

Big 8 at Union City (Turtle Creek GC): Springport finished in 1st place as a team. Max Argumendo shot a 37 to win individually. Brody Baum finished with a 38 for the Spartans, tying for 2nd. Concord finished 4th as a team, shooting a 192.

 

SCAA at Climax-Scotts (Riverside): Jackson Christian finished 4th as a team, shooting a 192 total.
