BOYS BASKETBALL

Cascades Conference Crossover:

Manchester 70, Hanover Horton 56

Addison 55, East Jackson 46

 

Napoleon 72, Homer 52: Tyler Nall had a monster performance for Napoleon, finishing with 35 points (including 5 three-pointers), 12 rebounds and 5 steals. Brady McLain added 20 points and Jayden Servis pulled down 10 rebounds. The Pirates have now won three of their last four games and improve to 11-10 overall. Napoleon will host Morenci next Tuesday (2/17) in the regular season finale.

 

Grass Lake 57, Vandercook Lake 41: The Warriors snap a four-game losing streak and earn their third win of the season in the crossover match. GL will play two non-league road games at Ottawa Lake Whiteford and Pinckney next week before beginning the postseason.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Belleville 71, Western 60

 

Springport 38, Vermontville Maple Valley 37: The Spartans hold on late to snap a three game losing streak and earn a Big 8 win at home on Thursday. Springport is now 7-9 overall and will host Charlotte next on Tuesday (2/17).

 

Concord 65, Reading 17: Bradie Lehman scored 24 points to lead Concord on the road. Cieara Barrett added 15 points for the Yellowjackets. Concord is now 11-0 in the Big 8 and 17-1 overall.

 

Jackson Christian 72, Tekonsha 20: Rennie Huff led the Royals with 20 points, 5 steals, and 7 assists. Ella Boll added 17 points and Abbie Huff added 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 steals. JCS is now 9-6 overall and has won 6 of their last 7 games.

WRESTLING

DIVISION 2 at Northwest:

Northwest 42, Tecumseh 24; Adrian 47, Jackson 24

FINAL Northwest 39, Adrian 33: Northwest prevailed late, as the final came down to the last match (285). The Mounties will advance to the regional round of the postseason next Wednesday (2/18).

 

DIVISION 4 at Lumen Christi:

Springport 77, East Jackson 0

FINAL Springport 74, Lumen Christi 6: The Spartans roll right through both opponents in the district round of the postseason at LCCHS. Springport has now won an incredible 26th straight district championship, dating back to the 2000-01 season.
