MHSAA HOCKEY REGIONAL SEMIFINAL
DIVISION 3 at Patterson Ice Arena (Grand Rapids)
Lumen Christi 1, Grand Rapids Catholic Central 0: This D3 regional semifinal contest came with controversy in the 2nd period. GRCC put one in the net, but the officials waved the goal off as they lost track of the puck, according to their explanation. Nonetheless, the Titans survived and advanced once again at Patterson Ice Arena. Jack O’Shea scored the lone goal for LC in the first period, and Michael Palmer finished with his 3rd shutout of the year in the net. Lumen Christi will face East Grand Rapids (15-11) in the Regional Final next Wednesday (2/25) back at Patterson.

Springport 73, Reading 48: The Spartans have officially clinched outright the Big 8 conference title with the home win. Dallas Higelmire led the way with 18 points, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Jake Kregel added 17 points and 13 assists, Gibson Overweg and Tucker Wiginton each scored 10 points. Springport finishes the regular season at 17-5 overall with 9 straight wins.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Jackson Christian 66, Camden-Frontier 20: Rennie Huff led the Royals with 17 points. Ella Boll added 12 points and 8 rebounds. Jackson Christian has now won 9 of their last 10 games and improves to 12-6 overall.
Grass Lake 65, Leslie 10: The Warriors cruised to a second straight win over Leslie on the road on Thursday night, Reese Lape led the way with 23 points and 5 assists. Grass Lake is now 18-1 overall with 16 straight wins. GL will face Columbia Central for the third straight year in the Cascades Conference championship, the game will be at 7:30pm on Saturday at Spring Arbor University.
MHSAA BOWLING REGIONALS
Division 2 at Ten Pin Alley – Tecumseh (team): Northwest rolled a team total of 3,346, finishing in 2nd place and qualifying for the Division 2 state finals next week. Western finished in 9th place and Jackson took 12th as both of their seasons wrapped up.
Division 3 at Royal Scot Lanes – Lansing (individual): No area bowlers finished in the top seven individually to qualify for the state finals in Lansing. Hunter Thomas finished just shy in 8th place for Grass Lake, Rajohn Cecil finished in 9th for Napoleon.
Division 4 at JAX60 (individual): Four bowlers from Jackson County made the top seven on Thursday at JAX60 to qualify for the Division 4 state finals next week. Allison Wheeler of Lumen Christi won the individual regional title, rolling a total score of 954 for the Titans. Alyssa Jones of Vandercook Lake took 3rd place with a 906 total. Elayna Losey for LC took 5th place, and Freshman Isabella Grove of East Jackson finished 7th and made the cut by just six total pins.
