Boys Bowling Individual Regionals

Division 2 at Tecumseh: D.J. Slawinski of Northwest finished 15th (1,108) and Robert Schafer of Western was 16th (1,107) in the regional at Ten Pin Alley. The top seven advanced to the individual state meet.

Division 3 at Lansing Catholic: Ethan Rose of Napoleon earned the regional championship at Royal Scot scoring 1,323 for six game – an average of 220 per game. Logan Torcoacci of Grass Lake also qualified for the state meet next week at JAX 60 with 1,177. Aaden Burge of Michigan Center was 16th  scoring 1,086.

Division 4 at Hanover-Horton: Jackson County bowlers dominated the top seven taking six state-qualifying spots. Bruer Gieske of Vandercook Lake was the regional champ scoring 1,159, Nathan Hinkle of Lumen Christi placed third with 1,101, Doug Lysher of East Jackson finished fourth at 1,073, Matthew DuBois of Lumen Christi was fifth with a score of 1,059, Adam Delano of East Jackson finished sixth with 1,053, and Zachary Kremer of Lumen Christi completed the near sweep scoring 1,049. Xavier Petty of Vandercook Lake was eighth (1,44) and Noah Dekamp of Hanover-Horton finished 16th (972),

Girls Bowling Individual Regionals

Division 2 at Tecumseh: Casey Jahr of Northwest grabbed the seventh and final qualifying spot at the Tecumseh regional Friday scoring 1,006 pins in six games. Teammate Serissa Meyers placed eighth (998) and Madason McDonald of Western was 10th (976).

Division 3 at Lansing Catholic: Three Grass Lake bowlers finished in the top seven to qualify for the state tournament next weekend at JAX 60.  Marielle Schafran was second overall (1,015), teammate Shandi Stark was fifth (982), and Natalie Farmer placed seventh (972) for the Warriors. Rylee Weiser of Grass Lake finished eighth (966), Alexis Henry of Columbia Central was ninth (950), and Kylie McKee of Michigan Center placed 12th (921).

Division 4 at Hanover-Horton: Lumen Christi and Hanover-Horton registered two state qualifiers each at JAX 60. Layla Lopez (931) and Elayna Losey (929) finished third and fourth for the Titans. Abby Barba (909) and Arianna Uhl (858) placed fifth and sixth for the Comets. Lumen Christi bowler Selia Lopez was eighth (835), Dominic Henry of East Jackson finished ninth (833), and Alyssa Jones of Vandercook Lake finished 11th (823). Cascades Conference bowler Molly Brown of Addison won the regional championship with 983.

College Sports Events

Bowling

Jackson College at MCCAA Baker Challenge: Both teams from Jackson College earned titles at Merri-Bowl Lanes in Livonia. Jackson College won 3-1 in the women’s Baker games and the men’s team won 3-2. Mason Keene hit the key shot in the 10th frame to wrap up the title.
