Boys Basketball

Jackson Christian 58, Litchfield 35: J.D. Locke scored 15 points and Caleb Lanham added nine points for the Royal in the home win Friday.

East Jackson 50, Morenci 40: East Jackson earned a non-conference road win Friday night.

Concord 71, Maple Valley 38: The Yellow Jackets were successful on Snowcoming Night. Brady Garrett scored 20 points, Connor Stevens added 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Darrell Dean added 14 points for Concord (8-7 overall).

Okemos 58, Western 45: Maverick Hammond score 18 points for Western in the non-conference game Friday night.

Columbia Central 69, Addison 28: Derek Sanders scored 19 points to become Columbia Central’s all-time leading scorer surpassing Charles Richardson. He now has 1,188 points for the Golden Eagles. Logan Fowler added 13 points for CCHS. Quincy Smith scored 16 points for Addison.

Girls Basketball

Grass Lake 52, East Jackson 38: Kate Starkey scored 24 points and created three steals in the contest. She broke the school record for most steals in a career with 241. Reese Lape scored eight points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Warriors.

Hanover-Horton 44, Homer 27: The Comets earned a road win in the Cascades Conference Friday night. Molly Soper scored 18 points and Amanda Ley added 12 points for HHHS. Alivia Warner scored 11 points to lead Homer.

Chelsea 62, Jackson 24      

Gabriel Richard 54, Lumen Christi 40: Kenna Hunt scored 19 points and Lucy Wrozek added 10 points for the Titans.

Michigan Center 49, Napoleon 31: The two teams were tied at 4-all in the first quarter before Michigan Center went on an 18-0 run. Mayrese Vieau scored 13 points and Hailey Mees added 12 points for Michigan Center (10-1).

Northwest 41, Pennfield 20

Western 53, Edison 48: The Panthers scored 23 points in the third quarter breaking open a low-scoring contest. Rayah Hitt finished with 15 points, Aubree Allen tallied 14 points, and Bayli Stewart added 13 points for Western.

Wrestling

Ovid-Elsie Girls Invitational: Top four finishers in the 47-team event included McKenna Worthing from East Jackson who was fourth at 125 pounds; Drew Swihart of Hanover-Horton was third at 135 pounds; and Bella Huston of Columbia Central was second at 190 pounds.

Competitive Cheer

Northwest at Gull Lake Invitational: Northwest High School finished second in the Division 2 event with 653 points.

Boys Bowling

Grass Lake 19, Napoleon 11: Ethan Rose bowled a 246 game and Nolan Williams added a 200 game for Napoleon.

College Athletic Events

Bowling

Crossroads League #3 at JAX 60: Spring Arbor won the men’s competition with 5,615 and was second in the women’s scoring 5,253.   Spring Arbor bowler Carson Kohler won the men’s individual title with a 709 and Kayla Tafanelli won the women’s competition scoring a 685 series.
