Division 4 at Concord

Concord 52, Reading 22: Concord High School Coach ArShawn Parker said senior Hannah Stimer has been in a slump shooting the basketball. Fans from Reading weren’t buying that. The CHS basketball player hit three 3-point baskets in the first half and scored 11 points leading the Yellow Jackets to its first regional title since 2012. “I told her to stop focusing on her shot going in … and just play basketball,” Parker said. Grace Thorrez had a big second half for Concord scoring 11 of her team-high 15 points in the second half. Stimer finished with 14 points, Bradie Lehman added 13 points, and Cieara Barrett added 10 points. Lehman stuffed the statistical sheet with nine rebounds, eight assists, and six steals for Concord (21-4). Thorrez blocked a handful of shots for the Yellow Jackets. Reading was led by Aubree Ervans with 12 points. Concord advances to the Division 4 quarterfinal Tuesday at Harper Creek against Byron Center Zion Christian.
