MHSAA GIRLS BASKETBALL DISTRICT FINALS
DIVISION 2 at Battle Creek Harper Creek
Parma Western 56, Michigan Center 42: The Panthers won in a battle of two Jackson County squads in Battle Creek on Friday night, claiming the program’s 2nd district title in the last 3 years. Michigan Center finishes the season at 20-4, with all 4 losses coming to Grass Lake (2x), Jackson Lumen Christi and Parma Western. Western advances to the Regional Semifinals at Tecumseh HS on Monday (3/9), they face Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard at 5:30pm.

DIVISION 3 at Napoleon
Jackson Lumen Christi 64, Grass Lake 53: The Titans eliminate the Warriors for the second straight season and win a second straight district championship at Napoleon. LC pulled away mid 4th quarter and took home the highly anticipated rematch between Division 3’s #1 and #2 teams. Kenna Hunt led the Titans with 27 points, and Lucy Wrozek added 22 points. LC hosts the regional round of play, and they will face Jackson County foe Columbia Central in the 5:30pm semifinal game on Monday. Grass Lake ends its season at 21-3, with both losses (before Friday) coming to D1 opponents.

DIVISION 3 at Onsted
Brooklyn Columbia Central 53, Blissfield 42: The Golden Eagles win their 2nd district championship in the last 3 seasons, and also beat Blissfield for the second time in three years at Onsted on Friday. CC is now 20-4 and will face D3’s #1 team, Jackson Lumen Christi, on their home floor in the Regional Semifinal on Monday (3/9).

DIVISION 3 at Quincy
Homer 60, Hudson 52: Homer wins its first district championship since 2021, and won both district games by just 8 points or less. Alivia Warner led the Trojans with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Ava Fetterman added 16 points. Homer will play in the 7pm regional semifinal game on Monday at LCCHS, facing Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central.
DIVISION 4 at Athens
Concord 53, Athens 36: The Lady Yellowjackets follow up a boys regional title from Thursday, and win their 3rd straight district championship on Friday. Cieara Barrett scored 23 points to lead Concord. Avery Arbuckle added a career-high 14 points, and Bradie Lehman added 12 points. Concord is now 22-2 overall and will face Mendon in the Regional Semifinals on Monday (3/9) at Marcellus HS.

Team Finals at Milford HS: Parma Western finished the state finals in 6th place out of 12 as a team, with a team score of 139.750.

MHSAA COMPETITIVE CHEER STATE FINALS
DIVISION 4 at Central Michigan University
The defending D4 state champion, Hanover Horton, placed 2nd in this year’s state final with a final score of 754.36. Pewamo-Westphalia took home first place, with Hudson finishing in 4th place and Onsted in 5th.
