SOFTBALL

Bedford 16, Jackson 0

Grass Lake 22, Homer 4 – Bree Salts continued her hot batting for the Warriors, batting 3-for-3 with 6 RBIs.

Grass Lake 12, Homer 0 – Leilah Smith and Bree Salts each batted 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs to sweep the doubleheader at Homer. GL improves to 26-4 overall.

Lumen Christi 9, Napoleon 2 – Four different Titans tallied two hits. Bella Wrozek struck out 10 batters in the circle.

Lumen Christi 4, Napoleon 2 – The Titans held off a late rally in the 7th inning by the Pirates in game two, Ollie Powers batted 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs. LC swept the non-conference doubleheader LIVE on JTV Wednesday.

Springport 8, Sand Creek 7 – Springport didn’t take the lead until later in the game. SHS was down 7-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Ashlyn Underhill homered to right field, scoring three runs. Underhill went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Devan Lowe and Peyton Collier each collected two hits for Springport.

BOYS GOLF

I-8 Conference Championship (at Coldwater GC): Andrew Boldt of Western won individually, shooting a 68. Cody Rowe of Northwest finished in 4th with a 72.

Columbia Central Jamboree (at Clark Lake GC): Jesse Smith of daVinci won, shooting a 46 at Clark Lake. Kaden Reason of Napoleon finished one shot behind for a 47 second place finish.

MHSAA TENNIS REGIONALS:

D2, Western at Marshall HS:

This marks the 5th straight Regional Championship for Western and sends the team once again to the State Finals at the University of Michigan May 30-31. All 8 flights played in the championship matches. Finalists were 2 singles Ali Carmody, 3 singles Natalie Hyde, 2 doubles Kiiona Carmody & Sophia Nguyen and 4 doubles Anna Willinger & Silvia Baker.
