BASEBALL

Jackson College 9, Macomb CC 5 – Zach Grinde led the Jets with a powerful 3-for-4 batting performance and 7 RBIs. JC’s four runs in the 4th inning helped them take a 9-5 lead for the eventual final score. Jackson College is now 21-22 overall after Friday’s games.

Macomb CC 14, Jackson College 1

 

Columbia Central 18, East Jackson 3 – Four different Golden Eagles collected two hits to dominate the first game at home.

Columbia Central 10, East Jackson 0 – A monster 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs performance by Hayden Haynes helped CCHS sweep the doubleheader. Jordan Dankert struck out 10 batters on the mound. CC improves to 14-4 on the season.

 

Grass Lake 4, Hanover Horton 3 – Jacob Collins and Cam Prater each had two hits to lead the Warriors.

Grass Lake 5, Hanover Horton 1 – Walker McKibbin struck out 9 batters on the mound for GLHS. Luke Guthrie, Jacob Collins, and Brayden Wayne each had two hits, GL is now 15-1 overall.

 

Addison 11, Michigan Center 3

Michigan Center 12, Addison 2 – Two five-run innings by the Cardinals helped them split the doubleheader on Friday. Miles Stewart batted 3-for-4 for MCHS.

 

Napoleon 11, Vandercook Lake 1 – Tyler Nall struck out nine batters for NHS, Nall also batted 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

Napoleon 13, Vandercook Lake 0 – Grant Straub and Tyler Nall each collected two hits to lead the Pirates. Gage Breining allowed just two hits on the mound and struck out nine batters.

 

Eaton Rapids 4, Springport 2

Springport 3, Eaton Rapids 1 – Two runs in the 6th inning helped SHS win and split the non-conference doubleheader. Drew Sanford batted 3-for-3 for the Spartans.

 

SOFTBALL

Eaton Rapids 11, Springport 1

 

Grass Lake 3, Hanover Horton 2 – GL walked it off in game one, after a base hit by Bree Salts followed up with two fielding errors by HHHS. Morgan Conrad struck out six batters for the Warriors and Alexyn DuBois struck out 10 for the Comets.

Hanover Horton 5, Grass Lake 4 – Four runs by HH and the walk off run in the 8th inning helped the Comets rally and split the doubleheader. A full recap of the DH can be found here.

 

Columbia Central 12, East Jackson 0 – Hailey Wetherby allowed just one hit and struck out 14 batters as she dominated in the circle for CCHS.

Columbia Central 15, East Jackson 0 – Gabby Gaydosh, Gianna Evans, and Rylee Knapp each tallied two hits for the Golden Eagles. Camden Knapp struck out six batters in three innings pitched.

 

Michigan Center 14, Addison 0 – Nora Fleming led the batting for the Cardinals, finishing 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs. Emma Pond struck out 10 batters in five innings in the circle.

Michigan Center 21, Addison 0 – Four different Cardinals tallied three hits, and six with at least two hits. Lilly Nutt added four RBIs to go with three hits for MC.

 

Napoleon 16, Vandercook Lake 1 – Kaitlyn Fall earned the pitching win for Napoleon. Fall gave up two hits and one run over three innings, and struck out five. Jenna Yob batted 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs.

Napoleon 17, Vandercook Lake 7 – Haven Marker drove in five runs on two hits to lead NHS on Friday. Marker singled in the first scoring two, singled in the fifth scoring two, and walked in the fourth scoring one. Napoleon improves to 9-10-1 on the season.
