BASEBALL

Springport 14, Concord 0: The Spartans scored 12 runs in the third inning to help put the game away and win in five innings. Four different players batted two hits for Springport, Andon Zeinert earned the pitching win.

 

Springport 12, Concord 2: Drew Kregel and Hunter Miller each batted two hits for the Spartans to take a conference rivalry sweep. Both pitchers for Springport combined to throw a no-hitter, and Gibson Overweg took the win with nine strikeouts. Springport is now 18-3 overall.

 

Parma Western 3, Michigan Center 0: Game two of the doubleheader was played on Tuesday due to Monday’s weather. Both pitchers for Western combined to allow just three hits, Elijah Norwood earned the win with 10 strikeouts. Lincoln Levy batted 2-3 with an RBI. Western improves to 17-2-1 overall.

SOFTBALL

Springport 21, Concord 0: Kendall Petrak, Devan Lowe, and Reese Siefert each batted three hits for the Spartans in game one. Morgan Shoemaker was the winning pitcher, allowing one hit and threw eight strikeouts on just 48 pitches.

 

Springport 22, Concord 0: Springport outscored Concord 43-0 between both games to take the road sweep. Kendall Petrak drove in five runs on three hits to lead Springport in game two. Devan Lowe and Peyton Collier each added three hits. Ashlyn Underhill earned the win in the circle, throwing six strikeouts in three innings. Springport has now won six straight and improves to 17-3 overall.

 

Napoleon 16, Leslie 6: Kaitlyn Fall got the win with 9 strikeouts for the Pirates. Molly Simpson and Haven Marker had 3 hits each. Molly Simpson and Katelyn Ault each had 3 RBIs.

 

Napoleon 15, Leslie 7: Hannah Hamlin got the win in the circle with 7 strikeouts. Sophia Davison, Haven Marker and Molly Simpson each had 2 hits. Sophia Davison had 3 RBIs and Hayden Rendall had 2 RBIs. Napoleon improves to 11-8 overall.

 

Lumen Christi 11, Marian 1: Bella Wrozek’s strong performance led the Titans in game one, batting 3-4 with an RBI and throwing 11 strikeouts. Four different players added two hits for LC, including Ellen Thompson driving in three runs.

 

Lumen Christi 19, Marian 0: Bree Okoniewski batted 3-4 with 5 RBIs to lead the Titans in game two, Okoniewski also threw a no-hitter in the circle with 10 strikeouts in the four innings played. Lily Ganton, Ollie Powers, and Ellen Thompson each added two hits. LC improves to 14-4-1 overall.

GIRLS SOCCER

Parma Western 4, Holt 0: With the win, the Panthers improve to 8-2-2 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play. Western controlled much of the play throughout the night, outshooting Holt 18-8. Lola Berdiner led the Panthers offensively with two goals, while Ceci Graetz and Kylie Vancalburg each added a goal of their own. Vancalburg’s goal marked her first varsity goal.

TRACK & FIELD

Coldwater at Parma Western: Both the Panthers’ boys and girls teams took care of business at home, defeating Coldwater 80-57 and 93-44 in the girls events. Full results here

 

Leslie, Homer at Columbia Central: Columbia Central defeated both schools on the boys side, taking wins in 15 of 17 events. CC girls split 1-1 with the two conference foes. Full results here

 

Manchester, Vandercook Lake at Hanover Horton: The HH Comets boys team finished the regular season undefeated in conference play. HH split 1-1 in the girls events. Full results here
