Boys Basketball

Napoleon 57, Dansville 40: Brenten Owen scored 17 points, Tyler Nall finished with 14 points and six steals, and Gavin Davis added 11 points for Napoleon.

Tecumseh 52, Northwest 46: The Mounties fell on the road in non-conference action Friday night.

Western 60, Lakeview 58: The Panthers earned a non-conference home win Friday against Lakeview. D.J. VanRiper scored 23 points including the game-winning 3-point basket for Western. Maverick Hammond scored 18 points for the Panthers.

Lumen Christi 59, Detroit Loyola 36: The Titans held Loyola to nine points in the first half. Luke Tropea finished with 20 points and Amarion Clay scored 10 points for LCCHS.

Girls Basketball

East Jackson 49, Olivet 32: Mariah Kerley finished with 21 points and Kennedy Goodwin added 10 points for EJHS.

Lumen Christi 57, Northwest 29: Kenna Hunt lead the way with 25 points and four assists, Lucy Wrozek scored 14 points and created five steals, and Codi Ruge finished with eight points and five steals for LCCHS. Northwest was led by Morgan Brooks with seven points.

Stockbridge 45, Springport 37: The Spartans lost in Big Eight Conference action.

Concord 49, Bronson 46: Concord improves to 3-0 in the Big Eight Conference with a key win over Bronson. Bradie Lehman led all scorers with 15 points, Grace Thorrez added 14 points, and Cieara Barrett finished with 13 points for the Yellow Jackets. .

Western 37, Lakeview 27: Aubree Allen finished with 20 points to lead Western to the victory..

Wrestling

St. Mary Kestrel Invitational: Columbia Central was 12th as a team, Jackson was 13th, East Jackson placed 24th, and Lumen Christi 26th at the all-girl invitational. McKenna Worthing of East Jackson placed third at 125 pounds; Bella Huston of CCHS won the title at 190 pounds and Adriana Berry of Lumen Christi was third; and Kaylee Bonner of Jackson won the title at 235 pounds.

Hockey

Detroit Country Day 2, Lumen Christi 1 (OT): The Titans fell at home Friday night. Isaiah Dinverno scored the only goal for the Titans with a power-play score in the first period.

Boys Basketball

Lumen Christi 73, Collegiate 36: The Titans improved to 8-0 on the season with the home win Saturday. Luke Tropea scored 21 points and Ashton Callan finished with 14 points for the Titans.

Gull Lake 41, Concord 40: The Yellow Jackets lost at Albion College playing in the Mike Turner Classic Saturday afternoon.

Brother Rice 74, Jackson 31: The Vikings lost at Albion College in the Mike Turner Classic Saturday.

Girls Basketball

Western 46, Dexter 35: The Panthers won on the road Saturday in non-conference action.

Columbia Central 59, Concord 29: The Golden Eagles won the Runway Shot Clock Invitational game Saturday at Jackson College. Gabby Gaydosh led CCHS with 10 points and Leelyn Brown added nine points. Hannah Stimer led Concord with 14 points and Grace Thorrez added 13 points.

Lumen Christi 66, Grass Lake 56: The Titans earned a non-conference victory in the Runway Shot Clock Invitational game at Jackson College Saturday afternoon. Lucy Wrozek scored 23 points, Kenna Hunt finished with 18 points, and Codi Ruge tallied 14 points for the Titans. Grass Lake was led by Kate Starkey scoring 19 points and Bree Salts added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Wrestling

Jackson at Homer Invitational: The Vikings won the Caudill Invitational Saturday with a 5-0 record. The Viking defeated Delton Kellogg (42-36), Galesburg-Augusta (71-18), Homer (63-18), Centreville (46-36), and Vandercook Lake (76-4). Michigan Center went 3-2 on the day with victories over Reading (34-33), Pinckney (42-34), and Galesburg-Augusta 48-30. Andrew Beadenkopf (175) and Cassius Wetherwax (215) went 5-0 for the Cardinals.

Hanover-Horton Team Invitational: Columbia Central won the event, going 5-0 in team competition. The Golden Eagles defeated Brandywine (59-21), East Jackson (60-24), Hanover-Horton (45-24), Hudson (52-22), and Onsted (50-30). Hanover-Horton went 3-2 on the day with wins over East Jackson (39-24), Brandywine (48-18), and Hudson (30-30 win on criteria) and East Jackson defeated Brandywine 45-35. Dylan Boone (285) and Hunter Czubachowski (150) were 5-0 for the Golden Eagles on the day. Griffin Wipp (106), Elijah Losey (138), and Logan Winter (157) were all 4-1 for CCHS during the tournament.

Napoleon at Temperance Invitational: Napoleon High School finished sixth in the team competition. Brady Warner won the title for the Pirates at 190 pounds; Rylay Lovett finished fourth at 175 pounds; Dallas Smith took third place at 215; and Jamarcus Goodloe was third and Carson Lovett fourth at 285 pounds.

Hockey

Lumen Christ 8, Jackson United 0: The Titans swept the season series with a home win Saturday. Zach Jaakkola earned the shutout in net for the Titans.

College Athletic Events

Men’s Basketball

Spring Arbor 64, Taylor 47: Spring Arbor improved to 4-1 in Crossroads League action with the home win. Gabe Newhof finished with 20 points and Travis Grayson added 14 points for the Cougars.

Women’s Basketball

Spring Arbor 73, Taylor 54: The Cougars scored 26 points in the first quarter grabbing the lead. Alana Nelson finished with 16 points and Megan Zeitz added 16 points for SAU (10-5 overall).

Bowling

Jackson College at MUAC Invitational: The Jets swept both of the competitions at the invitational. Max Schafran led the men’s team with a 648 series and Tobyn LePeak added a 616 series. The women’s team set a school record with a 1,043 team game – an average of nearly 209 per game. Chloe Manifold won the tournament with a 663 series and Sydney Nichols finished at 638. Jackson College travels to Northway Lanes in Muskegon next Friday for a 10 a.m. start.
