Boys Basketball
Vandercook Lake 65, Addison 63: Chris Jimenez led Vandercook Lake with 21 points and Todd Atkins had a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Hanover-Horton 45, Columbia Central 40: Derek Sanders finished with 16 points and Jack Gorton added eight points for CCHS. Luke Soper finished with 23 points and six rebounds in the win for Hanover-Horton. The Comets were down by eight points early in the fourth quarter but rallied for the Cascades Conference win.
Michigan Center 70, East Jackson 42: Four players scored in double digits for Michigan center in the win. Tre Collins scored 19 points, Jayden Watson finished with 16 points, Spencer Berkeypile added 14 points, and Travis Collins scored 10 points for MCHS.
Grass Lake 50, Leslie 45: After being outscored 15-6 in the first quarter, Grass Lake responded by scoring 21 points in the second quarter. Brayden Lape and Carmine Beltran each scored 17 points for the Warriors. Conner Marciniak finished with 13 points and Jack Fossitt 10 points for Leslie. Beltran was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field in the contest. Grass Lake is now 12-0 on the season, 9-0 in Cascades Conference games.
Lumen Christi 77, Lutheran North 48: The Titans are now 12-0 on the season following the home win Friday night.
Pennfield 58, Western 56: D.J. VanRiper finished with 19 points, and Mavrick Hammond and Justin Jones each scored 10 points for Western.
Manchester 40, Napoleon 37: Napoleon High School lost on the road in Cascades Conference action.
Harper Creek 76, Northwest 52: The Mounties fell in Interstate-8 Conference action Friday night.
Jackson 50, Ypsilanti 24: The Vikings earned a win Friday night on the road.

Lumen Christi 54, Divine Child 36: After a slow start, LCCHS kicked it into high gear at home Friday. Kenna Hunt leading the way with 23 points. Codi Ruge chipped in with nine points for Lumen Christi.

Harper Creek 47, Northwest 34: The Mounties are now 3-7 overall following the conference loss.
Concord 70, Springport 30: Four players scored in double digits for Concord as they remained undefeated in Big Eight Conference play. Bradie Lehman scored 21 points, Hannah Stimer finished with 16 points, Grace Thorrez added 15 points, and Cieara Barrett scored 15 points for Concord (9-2 overall).
Western 56, Pennfield 25: Western High School remains undefeated in Interstate-8 Conference play with the win Friday night. Rayah Hitt finished with 21 points, Bayli Stewart added 13 points, and Aubree Allen grabbed 11 rebounds and scored six points for WHS.
Grass Lake 67, Olivet 23: The Warriors earned an easy non-conference win on the road Friday.
Jackson Christian 50, Camden-Frontier 24: Rennie Huff led JCHS with 20 points and Ella Boll added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Groves Invitational (Girls): Bella Huston of Columbia Central High School finished second at 190 pounds.
Competitive Cheer
Northwest Invitational: Northwest High School won the event with 642, Columbia Central was second scoring 594, and Western fourth at 525.
College Athletic Events
Bowling
Jackson College Invitational: The Jets won the women’s competition with a score of 4,167. Jackson College was led by Chloe Manifold with a 222 game and a 601 series – best of the tournament. The Jets lost in the men’s division finishing 18 pins behind Montcalm. Charlie Teller of Jackson College finished with the top game of the invitational with a 245. The Jets will compete at the Kellogg Invitational next Friday at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek.

Quincy Invitational: Addison High School won the event (145), Hanover-Horton was third (111.5), Lumen Christi finished 11th (51.5) and Concord was 12th at the Shawn Cockrell Memorial Invitational at Quincy. Top four finishers at the invitational were Jensen Copeland of Addison who was fourth at 106 pounds; Trevor Ohm of Addison was second and A.J. Lusby was fourth at 113 pounds; Caden Olsofsky of Addison won the title at 120; Nolan Curtis was the title for Lumen Christi at 126 and Mike Beard of Addison finished third at the same weight class; A.J. Fielder of Hanover-Horton was first and Caleb Potts of Addison second at 132; James Randles of Addison was second at 138; Gavin Berkeypile of Hanover-Horton was second at 144; Joseph Clark of Addison won the title at 157 pounds; James Hart of Lumen Christi was fourth at 165 pounds; Wyatt Ashworth of Hanover-Horton and Kayden Davis of Addison were third and fourth respectively at 175 pounds; Austyn Hocter of Hanover-Horton won the title at 190 pounds and Hayden Rhinehart of Lumen Christi finished third; Lincoln McFate of Addison finished third at 215 pounds; and Reed Matthews of Hanover-Horton won the title at 285 pounds.
Columbia Central at Linden: Columbia Central finished third in the team competition at Linden in pool A. The Golden Eagles defeated Pennfield 54-30 but lost to Detroit Catholic Central and Linden. Dylan Boone (285), Elijah Losey (138), and Hunter Czubachowski (144) all went 3-1 on the day for CCHS.
Napoleon Invitational: Napoleon won the invitational with 195.5 pounds, Grass Lake placed fifth (109.5), and Northwest was ninth (73). Top four finishers were Izayah Scott of Napoleon at 106 pounds; Maxx Latshaw of Grass Lake finished third at 113 pounds; Brandon Rohde of Grass Lake won the title at 120 pounds; Logan Hartman of Napoleon finished second at 126 pounds; Aiden Sawyer of Northwest finished fourth at 132 pounds; Aiden Durham of Grass Lake was first and Dontez Eubanks of Northwest fourth at 138 pounds; Brayden Maher of Napoleon finished fourth at 150 pounds; Carson Warner of Napoleon won the title at 165 pounds and Romeo Gibson of Northwest placed fourth; Zach Bamm of Napoleon was fourth at 175 pounds; Brady Warner of Napoleon won the title at 190 pounds, teammate Peyton Dunlap was third, and William Billinghurst of Northwest finished fourth in the weight class; Dallas Smith of Napoleon finished second at 215; and Jamarcus Goodloe of Napoleon won the title at 285 pounds, teammate Carson Lovett was third, and Quint Leland of Grass Lake fourth in the heavyweight tournament.
Jackson at Kalamazoo Central Invitational: Jackson High School finished sixth with 131.5 points. Jackson wrestlers finishing in the top four for Jackson were Eden Nguyen at 113 pounds winning the title; Zander Resor won the title at 144 pounds; Shea Haehnle was third at 175 pounds; and Curtis Winters was fourth at 285 pounds.
Hudson Super 16: Northwest finished 18th, Springport was 21st, Michigan Center placed 27th, and East Jackson 32nd at Hudson. Top four finishers were Kaden Sizemore who was third at 150 pounds; Brody Birchfield of Springport won the title at 106B; Ashton Bristow of Michigan Center was third at 132B; Tanner Severns of Springport placed second at 138B; Jacob Kubiak of Springport finished fourth at 144B; Julius Farrell of East Jackson was second at 150B; Brendan Barrett of Springport finished third at 165B; and Cassius Weatherwax of Michigan Center placed fourth at 190B.
Western at Holt Dual: Western High School finished ninth in the 16-team invitational. The Panthers defeated East Lansing 50-27 in the ninth-place match. Western defeated Portage Central (45-23) and West Ottawa (37-30) during the tournament. Hezekiah Gin (106), Elijah Crist (126), Titan Parker (165), Reed Myers (190), Carter Dietz (215), and Max Harris (285) earned pins in the match against East Lansing.
Competitive Cheer
Jonesville Invitational: Hanover-Horton won the event (748), Onsted was second (701), Addison placed sixth (588), and Homer was eighth (569) at Jonesville.
Hockey
Dexter 5, Jackson United 1: Jackson United fell on the road to the top team in the league.
Gymnastics
Jackson Area Gymnastics at Vassar Invitational: JAG finished second overall with a team score of 134.375. Remi Taylor from Napoleon finished fourth on the beam (8.65) and eighth in the all-around (33.7), Ava Gaston of Lumen Christi was fifth on the beam (8.55), and Annabelle Beebe of Lumen Christi placed fifth on the bars (8.425).
Boys Swimming
Jackson at Dexter Invitational: Jackson High School finished fifth out of eight schools. Colin Moran won the 500-yard freestyle (5:17) and was second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54) for Jackson.

St. Francis 81, Spring Arbor 79: Gabe Newhof finished with 22 points and Travis Grayson and Aden Zank each scored 14 points for SAU. The Cougars are 13-6 overall, 5-2 in Crossroads League.

St. Clair County 87, Jackson College 53: The Jets were outscored 53-24 in the second half. Jackson High School graduate Savonn Campbell was the player of the game for JC with 31 points. Jackson is now 2-15 overall, 0-3 in MCCAA play. Jackson College hosts Henry Ford College Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Women’s Basketball
Spring Arbor 75, St. Francis 53: SAU outscored St. Francis 41-23 in the second half. Alana Nelson scored 19 points, Sydney Aunins added 16 points, Alayna Kulesza tallied 11 points, and Megan Zeitz added 10 points for SAU. The Cougars are 13-6 overall, 6-3 in the conference. SAU is 8-0 at home this season.
St. Clair County 72, Jackson College 61: The Jets fell on the road on Saturday. Kaylona Butler finished with 17 points, Michelle McGee tallied 14 points, and Zoie Bamm added 10 points and 14 rebounds for Jackson College. Jackson is now 12-5 overall, 2-1 in MCCAA play. Jackson hosts Henry Ford College Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
