VOLLEYBALL

Parma Western 3, Coldwater 0: Western continues to dominate this season, winning a conference match in straight sets. WHS is now 14-0 overall and has also not played a single match past three sets. Western is ranked #5 this week in Division 2 in the latest poll by the MI Volleyball Coaches Association.

BOYS/MENS SOCCER

Columbia Central 8, Michigan Center 0: Eli Hawley continues an incredible season with 5 goals and an assist on Wednesday, while Auden Kennedy added 2 goals and David Munro added another. Columbia peppered the Michigan Center goal with 21 shots on target, while junior goalkeeper Zach Schultz turned away all four Cardinal attempts to earn his 4th clean sheet of the season. CC stays unbeaten in conference play at 6-0.

Grass Lake 6, Leslie 0: Adam Fautsch and Lucas Heselschwerdt scored two goals each to lead the Warriors to a conference victory.

Spring Arbor Univ. 2, Aquinas 1: The Cougars stay unbeaten to start the season with another non-conference win on the road. SAU is now 8-0 overall.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Spring Arbor Univ. 4, Rochester Christian 0: SAU improves to 6-1-1 overall and opens conference play at home next Wednesday (9/23).

GIRLS GOLF

Addison Jamboree: Grass Lake took first place as a team, winning by just four shots with a team total of 196. Napoleon placed second with a 200, and Columbia Central finished third with a 206. Individually, Katelyn Ault of the Pirates won the match with a 43 at Lake LeAnn GC. Teammate Avery Rhodes placed second with a 45. Aubry Koch and Maddy Truax of Columbia Central, and Mallory Gilson tied for third with a 46.

CROSS COUNTRY

JPEC Falcon Invite: Springport boys placed fourth out of six teams to lead the Jackson-area schools competing. Owen Sanford placed 10th individually, running a time of 18:29 for the Spartans. Kennedy Moore placed ninth individually for Springport in the girls race with a final time of 23:05.
