VOLLEYBALL

Concord 3, Reading 0: The Yellowjackets won their second straight game on Tuesday, both wins in straight sets. Concord improves to 11-3-3 overall.

Hanover Horton 3, Jonesville 0: In a battle of the Comets, the host HH took a conference win in straight sets on youth night. Quinn Knoblauch led the way with 27 assists, 7 kills, and 4 aces. Brynn DeGlee added 12 kills, 5 digs and 2 aces. HH improves to 8-4-3 overall.

Grass Lake 3, Manchester 0: The Warriors sweep the Dutch on the road for a conference win. Sydney Palmer helped lead GL with 22 digs. Hayley Laurie added 25 assists, and went 15/15 serving with 10 points and 3 aces. Reese Lape tallied 14 kills with 19/23 serving and 17 points. Aliria Pastoriza was 13/14 serving with 11 points and 4 aces. GL improves to 11-2-2 overall.

Napoleon 3, Vandercook Lake 0: Napoleon continued the Tuesday trend of straight set wins with a sweep of their own on the road. The Pirates were led by Jenna Yob with 13 assists, Hallie Duvall with 16 digs and Claire Beer with 14 kills. Napoleon improves to 14-5-4 overall.

Lumen Christi 3, Wixom St. Catherine 1: LC earned a Catholic League win on the road, the Titans improved to 15-5-3 overall.

Jackson 3, Pinckney 0: The Vikings swept the Pirates and earned a conference win at home on ‘Pink Out’ night. Jackson is now 9-8-4 overall.

Columbia Central 3, Michigan Center 0: Mara Henry helped lead the way for CC with 14 kills, 2 blocks, 7 digs and 2 aces. Lydia Sanders added 12 kills, 5 digs and an ace. Harlow Zuver added 11 digs and an ace. Brooke Petosky dished out 21 assists to go with 5 digs, 2 kills, and an ace. The Golden Eagles get a conference win at home and improve to 14-5-2 overall.

Jackson Christian 3, North Adams-Jerome 0: The Royals were led by Gabby Guerrero with 3 kills and 4 aces. Abbie Huff, Braelyn Rublie and Emmalee Carpenter each had 3 kills. Ella Boll had 8 kills, 1 block and 5 aces.

BOYS/MENS SOCCER

Northwest 2, Parma Western 2: After a 2-0 Mounties lead at halftime, the Panthers rallied with two second half goals to bring the rivalry match to a draw. The resurgence of the Panthers prevented the Mounties from having a victory on senior night. There were four goal scorers in the game. Northwest’s Evan Conant and Jaxen Mezo found the back of the net, assisted by Silas Sheperd and Chase Wyers. The Panthers had Lincoln Warner and Samuel Heydenburg, who also had an assist. Mountie goalkeeper, Connor Stoyk, had a perfect first half with 7 saves and finished the game with a total of 10. Western is now 7-5-3, and Northwest is now 4-9-3.

GIRLS GOLF

Grass Lake Jamboree: Napoleon was atop the leaderboard once again in a conference jamboree, this time shooting a team total of 190 at Calderone on Tuesday. Teammates Ally Hoard and Avery Rhodes tied for first individually with a 44. NHS’ Katelyn Ault and Aubry Koch of Columbia Central tied for third with a 46. Mallory Gilson of MC placed fifth with a 47.

CROSS COUNTRY

Big 8 at Springport: Concord and host Springport placed 2nd and 4th respectively in the boys race, Aidan Bradley and Owen Sanford finished top ten for the Spartans. Keaton Smith finished 10th for Concord. The Yellowjackets dominated the girls race, taking first place as a team and placing three of the top five individuals. Haley Stimer took first with a time of 21:17, teammate sophomore Audrey Pyle finished two seconds behind her in second place.

I-8 at Parma Western: The Panthers won both the girls and boys races on their home course on Tuesday. In the boys race, Western took 2nd-4th place individually with Logan Cristian running a time of 16:51 in second. Bridget Fullerton finished second for Western in the girls race with a time of 20:37. Gibson Goodrich led the Northwest boys with a time of 21:09, and Olivia Khon led the girls in 10th place with a time of 22:24.

Napoleon Invite at Ackerson Lake: The Pirates finished second as a team in the boys race at home, led by Blake Fish in second with a time of 17:27. Thomas Bastian led JPEC in 4th place. David Arbogast led Vandercook Lake, placing sixth. Napoleon won the girls race, with freshman Ayva Berkeypile winning by just one second with a time of 21:48.

SEC-White at Tecumseh: Elaine Bentley led the Jackson Vikings girls, finishing 12th with a time of 22:25.
