Clark Wins Jackson County Golf Open at 7 Under Par

(Updated July 21, 2024 8:17 PM ET) Jamie Clark won he first major in Jackson County at the age of 18.

More than eighteen years later, he won his second with a scorching 137 total – 7 under par for 36 holes – at the Jackson County Open over the weekend.

Clark came from two shot behind to win the event shooting a 4-under-par 68 on Sunday at Cascades Golf Course.

Zach DeFrain finished second with 139, first-round leader Andrew Tindall was third at 140, Mike Boldt, Bret Valkuchak, and Mike Brockie tied for fourth at 142, and Nicholas Reynolds, Tom Butterfield, and Riley Hestwood finished tied for seventh at 143.

Eleven players finished at par or better for the tournament.

Clark made hay on the back nine shooting six under par combined on the final nine holes at Cascades over the weekend.

“I just felt comfortable with my tee shots (on the back nine),” Clark said. “I also had good feelings on the greens this weekend.”

Clark said he has worked hard on his game this summer.

“It is gratifying to see the results,” Clark said.

The 137 was the best 36-hole total for Clark in any tournament.

Josh Richmond won the first flight as he and J.T. Pickering tied at 154. He was awarded the winner of the flight based on a Golf Genius scorecard playoff. Dan Bankson and Nick Henman tied for third scoring 156.

Andrew Boldt and Tom Raymond tied for the second flight at 163 with Boldt winning in a playoff. Jake Brafford, Leo Nguyen, Adam Walker, and Pete Walz tied for third at 164.
