Consumers Energy Vice President of Generation Engineering and Services Dennis Dobbs and Manager of Media Relations Dan Bishop announced today the planned purchase of the former Kinder Morgan natural gas plant in Jackson. The plant, currently owned by DPC Juniper, opened in 2002 to generate and sell electricity. The 540 megawatt natural gas plant sits on the site of the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, which opened in 1937 and closed in 1984.
