(June 29, 2021 7:19 PM) Today, 50 Consumers Energy employee-volunteers in partnership with the City of Jackson pitched in to clean up several parks.  Throughout the day, volunteers worked at Ella Sharp Park, MLK Equality Trail, Loomis Park, and the Exchange Playground.

Consumers Energy Vice President Scott McIntosh led the volunteer crew as a demonstration of the Company’s commitment to serving its hometown community and to Michigan’s clean future.

Cleanup activities volunteers in blue Caring for Community volunteer shirts included mulching, painting, and gardening work.

McIntosh told JTV’s Andy Hawley that protecting the planet is important to Consumers Energy employees and is an extension of how Consumers Energy cares for the communities it serves. McIntosh said that the heart of service extends from cleaning parks in the energy provider’s hometown of Jackson to delivering a clean energy future statewide that includes going coal-free by 2025 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
