On Monday, October 16, Cooper Street/I-94 Business Loop/M-50 will be closed at the Amtrak railroad crossing, just south of Michigan Avenue, in downtown Jackson.
The Cooper Street railroad crossing will be closed for reconstruction. It is expected to reopen by Friday, October 27.
A detour will be posted when the crossing is closed. Northbound Cooper Street traffic will be directed to Washington Avenue to East Street to Michigan Avenue, back to Cooper Street. Eastbound Michigan Avenue traffic will be directed to Washington Avenue to East Street, back to Michigan Avenue. And southbound Cooper Street traffic will be directed to Michigan Avenue to Francis Street to Washington Avenue, back to Cooper Street.
East Michigan Avenue/I-94 BL/M-50
On Monday, October 30, Michigan Avenue/I-94 Business Loop/M-50 will be closed at the Amtrak railroad crossing, just west of Cooper Street.
The East Michigan Avenue crossing will be closed for reconstruction and is expected to reopen by Saturday, November 11.
A detour will be posted when the crossing is closed. Westbound Michigan Avenue traffic will be directed to Cooper Street, to Franklin, to Francis Street, back to Michigan Avenue.
Note: This second railroad crossing closure is contingent on the first closure at Cooper Street. The E. Michigan Avenue crossing will not close until Cooper Street has reopened.
