DEXTER, MI — The women’s cross country team raced to a great team results today at the EMU Fall Classic hosted by Eastern Michigan University at Hudson Mills Metro Park.
Running a strong team race was the main goal for the cougars, in hopes of qualifying for the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) cross country national meet in November, and qualify they did. Needing to run a combined top five runners team time of 100.00 minutes the cougars finished with 99:18 in-rout to securing a position in the national meet.
“Overall the team gave a wonderful effort today on a challenging, hilly course,” commented SAU head coach Bill Bippes. “This was a great race for our team today, as each of them ran for God and there teammates.” “Praise God they qualified and we had five girls run life time bested today!”
The Cougars will now have two weeks to prepare for the Crossroads Conference championships held at Grace College on November 9th. The team will enter the meet rated 5th in the conference.
