The Jackson Downtown Development Authority kicked off the inaugural Downtown Film Festival July 24 at Horace Blackman Park. The DDA, in cooperation with the Michigan Theatre and HOME.FM, presented “Sandlot” on an outdoor screen along with popcorn and other refreshments. The event followed the monthly Cruise-In and Jammin’ in Jackson. The festival continues the next two Friday nights with Ghostbusters on July 31 and Jaws on August 7. The film and popcorn are free and all are welcome.
