Jackson Mayor Jason Smith and the City Council voted to go ahead with the construction of a new downtown park on the site of the former Consumers Energy headquarters at 212 West Michigan Avenue. A contract was awarded at last night’s meeting for the $640,000 project which is expected to be completed by October 1st.
