The Michigan Theatre presents “Friday Night Films” all through the month of February.  For all films, doors open at 6:30 PM, film starts at 7 PM.  Admission is $5.  Members of the Michigan Theatre get in free to all Friday Night Films in February.  Tonight’s film:  “The Disaster Artist”.

Yoga at Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library.  Stop by the Meijer Branch every Friday at 8:30 a.m. and let Jeanette Lamphere teach you yoga. Suggested donation of $3. Intended for adults.

Tompkins Historical Society Friday Night Dinner. Tonight:  BBQ Ribs. The Jackson Coffee Company presents BJ Walraven and View.  Since 2003 View has been writing, playing, and sharing music with fans from southeast Michigan. Its three members come from different places, backgrounds, and musical influences, but share their love of rock music. It’s their differences and how they affect the music that makes View unique.  7  to 10 PM, Jackson Coffee Company, 201 South Mechanic, Downtown Jackson.

Ice, Wine, Beer & Blues.  Come join the fun for one of Marshall’s favorite traditions!  On Friday, February 2, beginning at 10 am there will shopping specials at downtown stores and ice carving will take place from 5 pm to 8 pm. Wine and beer tasting will begin at 6 p.m. at ten downtown business locations and will continue until 10 p.m.  Individuals over 21 will be able to purchase a wristband for $25 and receive 10 wine/beer 2 oz tastings. At each location, you will also be able to sample some complimenting heavy appetizers.  In addition, unique pottery goblets (an event favorite) will be available for $10 each.  Cost for tastings:  $25 for tasting only, $35 for tasting and a collectible goblet. 

The Croswell Opera House presents “Godspell” thru Feb. 3.   This Tony-nominated musical by Stephen Schwartz will be the Croswell’s annual all-area high school production. It will be directed by Michael Yuen, who played John the Baptist and Judas in the 2000-01 national tour of the show.  Croswell Opera House,  129 E. Collectible Toy Show.  American 1 Events Center, Jackson County Fairgrounds.  9 AM to 3 PM.  Admission $3 per person.  Children under 10 free with adult.  For show info, call 517-524-8899.

“Answering the Call:  A Memorial to Jackson Junior College Student Lt. Zenneth Arthur Pond”.  You’re invited to the screening of this Jackson College Heritage Center Documentary.  See two over-sized genealogy quilts showcasing the Maher and Pond families.  View a display of artifacts from the 1600s highlighting the history of the Pond family and early settlers.  2 PM, Potter Center Jackson College.  Free admission.

The Michigan Theatre welcomes back Blues Jam. Come on down and Jam.   Free Admission Starts at 7:00 P.M. 

The Croswell Opera House presents “Godspell” thru Feb. 3.   This Tony-nominated musical by Stephen Schwartz will be the Croswell’s annual all-area high school production. Ice, Wine, Beer & Blues.  On Saturday, February 3 in downtown Marshall there will be morning-after mac and shopping specials from 11 am to 3 pm.  Ice carving will begin at 10 am and continue until complete.  In the evening, at the Franke Center, the Big Boss Band will perform downstage from 5 pm to 7 pm.  During this time, beer, wine and a barbeque dinner will be available for purchase.  At 7 pm, on the main stage, the Jake Kershaw band will open for Harper and Midwest Kind.    For more information or to purchase tickets, click here. 

February 4

Spring Arbor University invites you to the opening of “Crafted in Michigan” featuring original metal works at The Ganton Art Gallery on the SAU Campus.  The gallery displays original metal works by Joel Sanderson, John Rayer, Douglas Thayer, Andrew Kyte and Scott Lankton.  Artist Presentation today at 1 PM, Opening Reception from 1 PM to 4 PM.  The exhibit will be on display through March 4.  The Ganton Art Gallery is open free of charge from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday thru Friday and 1 PM to 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Super Bowl Customer Appreciation Party.  FREE SUPER BOWL PARTY at the Michigan Theatre!  5:30-9:30 pm.  Free entry, free food, tons of concessions available for purchase.  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.
