Jackson Antique Show and Flea Market.  10 AM to 5 PM.  American 1 Events Center.  This event will take place inside & outside the fair event center. There will be free parking, food concession onsite, and thousands of items. What you can find at the Antique Show & Flea Market:  Antiques, Toy Dolls, Knick-Knacks, NASCAR,  Glassware,  Jewelry, Candles, Purses, Wood Carvings, Books, Coins, Tools and even more unknown treasures!  Admission: $3.00 per person, kids under 10 free.

The The Tompkins Center Historical Society’s March dinner will be held on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at Tompkins Center’s Township Town Hall at 9999 Tompkins Rd.  ½ mile north of Tompkins Center off of M-50.   Between Jackson and Eaton Rapids.  On the menu for March will be Chicken and Biscuits, Salad Bar and delicious desserts. Serving time is from 5 to 6:30 pm in the Tompkins Center Township’s Town Hall.  Take out orders call (517-569-2463) night of the dinner.  Dinner gift certificates available also.  Donation: Adults $9.00 Children Under 12 $5.00.  Go to www.tompkinshistorical.org for more info on upcoming events.Come and join us on March 2nd for good food, and bring your family and friends.

The Michigan Theatre presents Oscar Nominated Shorts.  Join us for four (4) screenings of The 2018 Oscar Nominated Short Films, Animation and Live Action. It’s a three hour film event complete with intermission. The dates are as follows: March 2, 7:00 pm, March 3, 7:00 pm, and March 4, 3:00 pm. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Only $5.

The Jackson Coffee Company presents live entertainment with Steve Berkemeier.   For more than 20 years now, Berkemeier has combined the strength of his original songs with popular, classic and contemporary songs by other artists, to entertain audiences all over the State of Michigan and Ohio. His frequent appearances at area festivals and venues have made him one of the region’s most popular entertainers.  7 PM to 10PM, Jackson Coffee Company, Mechanic and Cortland, Downtown Jackson.

GROW Women One Day Conference.  Women’s One Day is a retreat-style day of learning, growing, laughing, loving, and lots of encouragement! Come hear a special word from God through Pastor Crystel Watts and other guests. Plus, there will be giveaways, a book and Bible swap, and other fun surprises! Queens Women’s Guild Faith Lift 2018 Retreat.  Keynote speaker is Shelby Raines, Marriage Matters Jackson.  Breakout sessions include cooking demo with Father Dan and Josie Gauthier, The Role of Women in the Catholic Church by Deacon Pat Gorczyca, Lessons in Life from the Art of Juggling with Mike Shore.  $25 at the door.  Queens Social Center, 1 PM to 3:30PM.  Lunch provided by the Oaktree Lounge. 

The 15th Annual Harold Haugh Light Opera Vocal Competition.  See tomorrow’s stars today!  Ten talented singers compete for over $7,000 in scholarships.  7:30 PM, Jackson Symphony Orchestra Weatherwax Hall.  Free admission, donations accepted.

Cirque Ziva performed by the Golden Dragon Acrobats.  Back by popular demand! The Golden Dragon Acrobats have been going strong for more than 30 years. This fast-paced, technically innovative performance showcases traditional Chinese acrobats, dance and costumes, ancient and contemporary music and modern theatrical techniques. The renowned acrobats dazzle with feats of athleticism and daring heart-stopping stunts. Jackson Junior Welfare League presents “Come Fly With Us” Gala.  Join the Jackson Junior Welfare League for our annual fundraiser gala. 6 PM at the Commonwealth Commerce Center in Jackson, Michigan. This year’s gala will benefit three valuable organizations: AWARE, Felician Children’s Center, and the Jackson YMCA. Spring Arbor University invites you to  “Crafted in Michigan” featuring original metal works at The Ganton Art Gallery on the SAU Campus.  The gallery displays original metal works by Joel Sanderson, John Rayer, Douglas Thayer, Andrew Kyte and Scott Lankton.   The exhibit will be on display through March 4.  The Ganton Art Gallery is open free of charge from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday thru Friday and 1 PM to 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Jackson Youth Symphony Concert.  Join the Jackson Youth Symphony Orchestra in welcoming percussionist Sam Gould to Jackson.  We are excited to hear two concertos written for orchestra and the Ghanan xylophone known as the Gyil.  Come join us for a fun concert with some exciting music that you didn’t hear in Humanities 101!  3PM, Jackson High School Auditorium.  Free admission, donations accepted.
