Friends Helping Friends Fundraiser.  Kit Young Bulldogs vs. Napoleon Pirates Basketball Game, 6:00 pm at Napoleon High School.  $5 for adults and $3 for school age students.  Come join the fun!  There will be a 50/50 drawing, hoop shooting contests, concessions, and raffle prizes.  All proceeds from game admission, contests, t-shirt sales, drawings & raffles to benefit Kit Young.

The Jackson Coffee Company presents live entertainment with Mike Felton.  Mike has been playing since the 1960’s.  A veteran of rock, country and blues bands.  Mike continues his never ending tour playing over 80 dates a year from sold out shows in New York City to raucous country clubs in Dallas playing for neo-punks, evangelical Christians and everyone who would listen for a moment or two. Mike is happy to play in your living room, concert hall, saloon, coffee shop or the back of your flatbed truck.  7 PM to 10 PM, Jackson Coffee Company, corner of Cortland and Mechanic, Downtown Jackson.

State Representative for the 64th District Julie Alexander will be holding office hours at the Jackson County Tower Building, 120 West Michigan Avenue, First Floor.  Hours are 4 PM to 5 PM.  All are welcome.

The Jackson Symphony Orchestra presents Bach, Mozart and Beethoven on Friday, March 23 at 7:30 PM and Saturday March 24 at 7:30 PM at Weatherwax Hall, 215 West Michigan Avenue, Downtown Jackson.  SUNDAY’S CONCERT IS SOLD OUT. The JSO presents Bach, Mozart and Beethoven as part of its Consumers Energy Signature Series of classical concerts.  Music Director Matthew Aubin welcomes you to turn off your cell phone, unplug and Escape into the sounds of a diverse array of composers. What better way to get ready for spring than joining the JSO for 3 light-hearted works by the Greats? Virtuosic, Venezuelan-American pianist Vanessa Perez joins the JSO on Mozart’s 23rd Piano Concerto. Members of the JSO’s string section open the program with Bach’s uplifting 3rd Brandenburg Concerto. The 3rd Annual MOPS Easter “Egg”Stravanganza, today from 9 AM to 12 PM.  Dibble Elementary School, 3450 Kibby Road, Jackson.  Join us for the 3rd annual MOPS Easter “Egg” Stravaganza.  Bake sale,  Kids fun run, Basket raffle, Games and prize, Egg hunt at 11am, Easter bunny photos.  $5 per family.

Ice Kart Racing.  The Optimist Annual Go Kart Race on the Ice on March 24th is the most unique and exciting event in the Midwest. Up to 20 teams of 2-8 drivers will be racing using identically prepared go karts for 220 laps on the Optimist ice rink.   This is a great fundraiser for the Jackson Optimist Ice Arena. The team drivers just need to show up and race. The Jackson Speedway provides the 20 go karts, helmets, gloves, all equipment, scoring system and track personnel.   Practice starts at 5:30 PM and racing goes on to approximately 10:00 PM. The ice racing will be on one rink, while the second rink will have open skating. The Ella Sharp Museum invites you to welcome spring at the annual Sugaring and Shearing Festival, today from 12 PM to 4 PM at the Ella Sharp Museum.   Farm lane will be bustling with activities like sheep herding, sheep shearing, and traditional craftsmanship. Stop by the sugar bush for live sap-to-syrup demonstrations. All six galleries will be open with free admission, and all historical buildings will be open to visitors.  Free admission, nominal fees for Planetarium shows and food.  517-787-2320, ellasharp.org.
