The Jackson County Fair presents Senior Citizen Day.  Ages 65 and over receive free gate admission.  Monday is Pay-One-Price Day, with ride bracelets at $25.  Events today include swine and draft horse judging at 9am, a Senior Program at 11am on the Herman Gumper stage.  South Central Woodcarvers at 11 am and 6pm.  Elvis Tribute with Matt King at 11:30 am and 5pm.  Tonight’s Grandstand show is Stone Sour, Skillet and Alter Bridge.  Tickets are $33, $44, and $64.  Hospitality Tent opens at 6pm, Grandstand show at 7pm.  Rides begin at 2pm each day.

Yoga at Meijer Branch, Jackson District Library.  Every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and Friday at 8:30 am.  Join Yoga instructor Jeanette Lamphere and learn the basics of yoga.  Suggested donation $3. Intended for adults. 

The Spring Arbor Branch of the Jackson District Library invites you to join attend the Just Desserts Book Club on Monday, August 7 at 12 p.m. to discuss Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Intended for adults.  Located at the Spring Arbor Branch. 

The City of Jackson Summer Playground Experience continues today and runs through Thursday, 10am to 4:30pm.  The Recreation Department hosts an organized and supervised program at Cascades School (1200 S. Wisner) and Kiwanis Park (1521 Blakely).  Register on site at any time. Lunch and activities at the park, plus field trips to movies, putt-putt, Nixon Water Park, Binder Park Zoo, DNR Adventure Center and District 5. The Jackson YMCA Travel Camp theme this week is “Boots & Hometown Roots”.  Pull out your cowboy boots for a foot stompin’ good time.  The camp will spend time in the great outdoors and explore all it has to offer.  Campers will attend the Jackson County Fair, Buffalo Ranch, Whitetail Museum and Alligator Farm.  Details and registration at jacksonymca.org.
