The 2017 Stock & Outboard National Hydroplane National Championships begin today on Grass Lake.  Races are scheduled throughout the day with Finals on the weekend.  Today, a driver’s meeting and Ox Roast at Walz Fabrication in Grass Lake.  Racing is at Grass Lake County Park.

Gigantic Sale for Missions Days presented by Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church is holding Donation Day today and tomorrow at the church.  Donations of CLEAN, USABLE items will be accepted Monday, July 24, 9AM – 7PM and Tuesday, July 25, 9AM – 4PM.  It is very helpful to have clothing sorted into men/women/children.  Needed: Donations of snacks for workers every day Monday – Saturday and plastic grocery bags.  The sale will be held this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  All proceeds go to support missions work around the world and here in Jackson County.  Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church, 120 E Main St, Spring Arbor, Michigan 49283

“Christmas in July” is the theme for this week’s Jackson YMCA Travel Camp.  This week, we are half way to Christmas so why wait, let’s celebrate now!  Campers will go to Optimist Ice Arena, have a Sandman building completion at Lake Lansing and enjoy frozen cocoa.  Travel Camp is for kids age 4 to 14.  In addition to field trips, campers swim, play games, create with arts and crafts and more.  For day camp and travel camp registration, visit jacksonymca.org or call 517-782-0537.

The next session of Youth Tennis Lessons presented by the Jackson Recreation Department begin today.  Classes are held Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Middle School at Parkside Dennis Kiley Tennis Center.  The fee is $15 for JPS district residents, $25 for non-residents.  You may register at the first class of each session.  Start times:  Beginners 9am;  Intermediate 10am; Advanced 11am; Beginners 1pm; Intermediate 2pm.
