Jackson County Student Art Show. Join us for the 11th Annual Jackson County Student Art Show! This inspiring showcase features artwork from over 20 schools, with students in grades K–12 displaying their incredible creativity. The show spans the entirety of the mall, so be sure to take a stroll and soak it all in. We’ll also have light entertainment and refreshments on select days, making it the perfect time to come out, explore, and support local students and their beautiful art. 4th Annual Barbecuing for Athletes & Cornhole Tournament. Benefiting Special Olympics Michigan. The Federation Cornhole State PRO/AM Cornhole Tournament runs Friday and Saturday. The Barbecue is Saturday, with sales available to the public at 3 PM. Jackson Optimist Ice Arena.

Sauk Theatre presents “John & Jen” . 8 PM. A truly original musical, this is the story of Jen and her relationships with the two Johns of her life: her younger brother, who was killed in Vietnam, and his namesake, the son who is trying to find his way in a confusing world. Jen and her younger brother, John, are growing up in the ever-changing world of mid-century America. John & Jen is a musical about connections, commitments and the healing of the human heart. 24th Annual Family Service & Children’s Aid 5K RUN and WALK. 9 AM. Middle School at Parkside. The course will take place on the Falling Water Trail. Overall Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers of Open (all ages), and Grand Masters (50+), in the 5k Run, and 5k Walk. Age Groups Awards to the top 3 places in each age group. Proceeds from the race go to Family Service & Children’s Aid. Since 1944 Family Service & Children’s Aid has touched the lives of thousands of Michigan families in Jackson and Lenawee Counties through adoption, foster care, counseling, community and school based programs, substance abuse treatment, and other services for children and families. People for the Parks & Trails Cleanup Event. 9 AM to 11 AM. Join us to help Grow Jackson prepare a garden bed on Saturday April 25 from 9:00 – 11:00 at the Martin Luther King Center at 1107 Adrian Street. Bring gardening gloves, we’ll have all the shovels and rakes we need.
