Vineyard Jams:  Friday and Saturday Music.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Join us this Summer for the return of our Friday & Saturday night music series: Vineyard Jams.  Every Friday and Saturday evening (Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend) from 7-10 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best bands in the area. From rock ‘n roll, to blues, and country and pop, there is something for everyone. Beer, Wine, Wine Slushies, & Cider.  Rotating Food Trucks.  Limited Cafe’ Menu.  Open to all ages. Community Care Day and Pancake Breakfast.  9:30 AM to 12 PM.  Back-to-school preparations will be a little easier for area families this year thanks to an upcoming Community Care Day at Trinity Lutheran Church. Co-hosted with Redeemer Lutheran Church, the free event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, August 19 at Trinity, 122 W. Wesley St. Kicking off Community Care Day will be a pancake breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Afterward, volunteers will be on hand to distribute school supplies, hygiene kits, and socks and underwear. Complimentary haircuts will also be available, as well as a variety of children’s activities.  Trinity and Redeemer have a long history of giving back to the Jackson-area community. In addition to Community Care Day, the two churches collaborate on a monthly food pantry, also held at Trinity. Jackson Pride Fest.  2 PM to 6 PM.  Horace Blackman Park
W Michigan Ave & S Jackson St, Jackson.  Jackson Pride Fest kicks off with a Walk of Pride starting at Consumer’s Energy and finishing with a party at Horace Blackman Park.  There will be live music, food trucks, booths and community resources. Running Between the Vines.  7:30 AM – 12 PM.  Sandhill Crane Vineyards, 4724 Walz Rd, Jackson.  Join us August 19, 2023 in the naturally calming and stunning landscape of Sandhill Crane Vineyards for this summer favorite! Friends, running, a beautiful course, and a finish in the vineyards that includes, music, cheese, and chocolate paired perfectly with … wine! Entrants receive a custom wine glass, custom bottle stopper finisher’s medal, post race food and wine tasting and awards eligibility. Half Marathon entrants receive an additional ticket for a full glass of wine! Run both the 5K and 5 Mile to complete the Cellar Slam! Cellar Slam participants will receive one 5K/5M medal and a Cellar Slam finisher medal! Overall awards to first male and female based on gun time. Young Entrepreneur Day.  10 am – 5 pm.  Lowry’s Little Flock Farm, 12201 Sutfin Rd., Horton. There will be 45 kid vendors on  site. Come and support these kiddos! Nutritional Workshop Series.  12 PM.  Summer is the perfect time to take a new, positive approach to wellness, starting with nutrition. Join Holistic Nutritionist Savannah Curtis, Found of Grateful Fox Nutrition for series of workshops at the Jackson District Library Spring Arbor Branch, Jackson District Library on how to incorporate nutrition into your wellness goals.  Today:  Pantry Makeover.

Ironbark Brewing Company “The General Store”.  Ironbark Brewing Co. General Store Vendor, Live Music & Beer Event, 2610 Kibby Rd, Jackson.  The Bureau of Creative Endeavors presents: The General Store. There will be a variety of musicians, artists, and makers joining our summer show, The General Store, on August 19th from 3pm-10pm at Ironbark Brewing Co. This will be a captivating one-day market that celebrates all things local.

Rockin’ the Tee Box Concert Event.  2 PM.  Apex Sports & Entertainment, 3600 Wayland Drive, Jackson.  Get ready to rock at the Apex Festival Grounds in Jackson, Michigan! Apex Sports & Entertainment presents “Rockin’ the Tee Box,” an annual music festival on August 19, 2023, that’ll have you tapping your feet and nodding your head all night long. With a lineup of nationally-known mid-90s to early 2000s rock bands, along with some amazing regional and local talent, this festival is sure to be a hit. Come out and experience the energy and excitement of live music with like-minded music lovers. Cascades Rotary Bandshell Concert Series.  Free!  The Cascades Rotary Bandshell Presents Big Foot Bob. Show starts at 7pm.  Grand Light Show at 10pm.  Weather Permitting.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a great show, sponsored by Alro Steel.

ORS Race Series:  Heart of a Lion 5K Run/Walk.  9 AM.  Ella Sharp Park, 2800 Fourth St., Jackson.  REGISTER HERE: https://runsignup.com/Race/MI/Jackson/HeartofaLion.  Mark your calendars for the 9th Annual Special Olympics Michigan Area 19 (Jackson County) Heart of a Lion chip timed 5K Run/Walk at the beautiful Ella Sharp Park located at 2800 Fourth St. Jackson.  The race will be held on Sunday, August 20th at 9 a.m. with a SOMI athlete/Kids Fun Run to follow.  Packet pick up will be on Saturday, August 19th from 3-5 p.m. at the SOMI office located at 210 East McDevitt Jackson, MI 49203. Race day packet pickup will start at 7:00 am at the race location, Ella Sharp Park. Race day registration is available until 8:45 a.m.  Proceeds from this race will benefit the Jackson Area 19 Special Olympics and will be used to provide year round sports training and athletic competition for persons with intellectual disabilities. All proceeds stay in Jackson, County.  The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. The Heart of a Lion is proud to be part of the ORS Race Series.
