Grand Rivers Farmers Market.  The Jackson Downtown Development Authority presents the Grand River Farmers Market.  Local produce, crafts, flowers, plants, baked goods and more.  9 AM to 2 PM Friday and Saturday.  Corner of Glick and Mechanic, along the Grand River.  Please practice social distancing and wear a mask.  Every Friday and Saturday through October.

DoughNation Bakery at Fortress Coffee (Lean Rocket Lab), Downtown Jackson.  Swing by for your weekend bread/bagel fix.  Open 9 AM to 1 PM Friday.

The Croswell “Out of Doors”.  Join us in the courtyard behind the Croswell Opera House in downtown Adrian for a series of outdoor concerts.  Table seating provided and a cash bar will be available.  Friday, August 28:  Eric Parker, Kyrie Bristle and the Croswell All-Star Band rock in to the night with the greatest hits of the 1980s.  7 PM.  Rain date for all concerts will be the following night.  No ticket required, suggested donation:  $10 to $20 per person.

Vital to Victory Exhibit at Lost Railway Museum.  How Motorwomen Challenged & Changed the World.  Now through November 21.  Admission $5.  Vital to Victory features the often-untold lives of women in the rail industry, from early electric streetcar drives to modern locomotive engineers.  Women were initially only granted entry to these jobs during World War I and World War II when male employees were drafted into service.  Lost Railway Museum, Michigan Avenue, Downtown Grass Lake.

School Age Child Care.  Jackson YMCA and Jackson Public Schools are partnering to offer school-age child care for young fives through fifth grade.  Beginning August 31, fee-based full-day and after-school care will be available at T.A. Wilson and financial assistance is available.  The program will adhere to safety guidelines and includes homework assistant and fun activities.  Due to distancing requirements, space is limited so sign up today at JacksonYMCA.org.

Salvation Army Food Pantry.  The Salvation Army of Jackson County Food Pantry Hours:  Regular Pantry Hours are 10 am-noon and 1-2 pm Monday through Thursday.  Food Boxes are available every 30 days.*In an emergency food may be provided from 2-4:30 pm -please call ahead – 517-782-7185.  The Fresh Food Initiative (FFI) is every Monday from 9-10:30 am -through September 28. FFI is closed on Labor Day.  FFI is available to any one in need – please bring ID.

Jackson YMCA Outdoor Exercise Classes.  Join the outdoor group exercise classes at the downtown Jackson YMCA.  Free for members, $5 for most classes for non-members.  Bring a mat, water bottle and towel.  Complete schedule at jacksonymca.org
