Friday, August 9

Jackson County Fair.  The 170th Jackson County Fair, Keeley Park, Downtown Jackson.  9 AM to 11 PM. There is so much to experience at the Jackson County Fair.  Today Veterans Day and Unlimited Ride Wristband Day.   Come out and enjoy a day or two at the fair filled fun games, exciting rides, livestock, events, and tasty food! The Jackson County Fair has something for everyone in the family. Enhance your summer in Pure Michigan by attending a fun-filled community fair! It is not about how fast they can go, but how far they can go! Ticket prices range from $10.00& $15.00 and are on sale now. Grand River Farmers Market.  9 AM to 2 PM.  You’re invited to join us riverside for a healthy dose of good food, good music, and good community! We’ve got dozens of weekly rotating vendors offering Seasonal fruits & veggies, meats, cheeses, coffee, honey, pasta, artisan breads, baked goods, dairy, plants, flowers, bath and body, hand-crafted artisan wares, and more!  Entertainment today by John Louis Good (11 AM)  and food truck.  We’ve also got prepared food and frozen make-n-take dinners.  We’ll be open rain or shine – hope to see you there!  Glick and Mechanic, Downtown Jackson.

Vineyard Jams at Cherry Creek Cellars.   Vineyard Jams. Every Friday and Saturday evening from 7-10 PM on the Cherry Creek stage, enjoy some of the best bands in the area. Jackson Bead Festival.  Thursday, August 8th through Sunday, August 11th 2024… Beads are taking over Downtown Jackson, MI! Make sure not to miss the inaugural Jackson Bead Festival. This event will host classes with instructors from all over the country, vendors of unique and varied goods, and so much more. This is the inaugural year of the Jackson Bead Festival. A jewelry maker’s dream, bringing together instructors and vendors from all over the country for a weekend of creative immersion. While class registrations have closed for 2024, people who wish to attend and shop can still grab a shopping pass on the Beads to Live By website. Marcus & Tiffany Shelton at Veritas.  6 PM to 9 PM.  Marcus and Tiffany Shelton are classically trained singers who have been married for over 20 years. In his longtime opera career, Marcus was honored to sing on stages around the world, and with some of the biggest names in the business; and Tiffany has largely focused her music degree and velvety pipes on jazz and musical theatre. They will be performing their signature mix of genres and styles, including: classic rock, opera, 90s alternative, mellow 70s gold, country, big band favorites, and more! Ella Sharp Museum Free Admission.  Free Admission for the month of August! The museum has received a generous donation from an anonymous donor to provide free admission for the entire month of August. Come by the museum this month to enjoy our galleries and the Hurst Planetarium.
