December 20

Nite Lites Drive Thru Christmas Light Show.  Michigan International Speedway US-12 Entrance only, 12626 US-12, Brooklyn.  5:30 pm – 9 pm Sunday thru Thursday, 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm Friday & Saturday. Winter Wonderland hours: 6pm-9pm, Santa’s hours: 6:00pm-8:30pm.    Live Reindeer:  December 20th (6pm – 9pm).  This event features food and drinks of the season and a visit from Santa Claus himself!

Family Night at Fundays.  What a week! Bring the family in for a fun night out! Celebrate the week’s successes or maybe you’re just happy the week is over! Either way, kids are 1/2 off admission from 4 to 7pm every Friday night!    Summit Oaks Mall, 2151 Ferguson Road.

Live Music at Veritas.  Local legend Benny Poole entertains at Veritas from 7 PM to 10 PM.  Enjoy appetizers, dinner or a drink in our bar.  151 West Michigan Avenue, Downtown Jackson.

December 21

Jackson Symphony Orchestra Community String Ensemble Free Christmas Concert.  Classical music and Christmas favorites.  Bring the entire family to this FREE community Christmas concert.  7 PM.  Weatherwax Hall, Downtown Jackson.

Brunch with Santa.  “Brunch with Santa” at Grand River Brewery from 10am – 2pm Saturday and Sunday.  Grand River Brewery, Glick and Mechanic Street, Downtown Jackson.  Enjoy brunch and a visit with Santa at this Holiday tradition.  Bring your camera!

Slices with Santa.  Join us at B’s Pizza this Saturday, December 21st from 12pm-2pm for Slices with Santa! For just $5 you get a slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza, a drink and a cookie with the big man himself, Santa Clause.  Afterward, everyone can get their picture with Santa with your own camera (no extra charge). Movie Night Featuring The Polar Express.  Please plan on joining us Saturday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. for the showing of “The Polar Express.”  On Christmas Eve, a young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express, while learning about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas.  There will be friends and popcorn to enjoy.  All are welcome to this free event!  First Baptist Church, 201 S. Joseph’s Journey, An 80’s Christmas Rock Opera. 6 PM, Michigan Theatre.   Experience the Christmas story as if it took place in the 1980’s – with live music from Journey, Rick Springfield, REO Speedwagon, Cyndi Lauper, Bon Jovi, and many more 80’s rock stars. Come dressed in 80’s attire and rock out to your favorite hits from the decade of rad!  Free Admission!  Presented by Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church at the Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

TubaChristmas. Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 3 pm we will be celebrating the Holiday Season with a TubaChristmas concert at Weatherwax Hall.   We are delighted to have as our conductor this year Dr. Ken Kroesche, Oakland University low brass professor and director their brass band.  He will start the day off with a “Tuba and Euphonium Masterclass” at 11:30 am.  Players interested in honing their skills as musicians will enjoy this “free” masterclass.    TubaChristmas registration begins at 12:30 pm. Rehearsal from 1:00 to 2:30 pm followed by a break before the 3:00 pm concert.    The concert is free and open to the public.  Be sure to invite friends and family  Weatherwax Hall, Downtown Jackson.

Christmas Concert and Celebration.  Join Calvary United Methodist Church for their 13th Annual We Wish You a Merry Christmas Concert and Celebration. This event will feature Calvary brass and Calvary Bell Choir with Jim DeBruler on the organ.
