Grotto Breakfast Benefit.  7 AM to 11 AM.  For a donation, have a wonderful breakfast and support great local causes.  Menu:  scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, biscuits & gravy, hash browns, toast, orange juice, and coffee.  Proceeds will benefit The Jackson Community Food Pantry, Toys for Tots, and Salvation Army Bucket Brigade.  Grotto Club, 102 East Washington Avenue, Jackson.

Spring Arbor University’s 21st Annual Hanging of the Greens.  Kick off the holiday season with great music, yummy desserts, and lots of fun.  The entire event is free and guests of all ages are invited to attend.  Program:  7:00pm  Welcome, 7:05-7:25pm Brief Program & Prayer, 7:25-7:30pm Singing of Silent Night & Candle Lighting, 7:30pm  Fireworks, 7:45-10:30pm  Indoor Festivities with COVID Precautions:

Jackson Pottery & Clay Guild Mug Sale.  7 AM – 5 PM.  Jackson Pottery & Clay Guild will host the Annual Mug Sale on both December 3 & 10, 2021.  Jackson Coffee Company, 201 S Mechanic St, Jackson. The Jackson Pottery & Clay Guild is a non-profit organization located in Jackson, MI. We are a community of potters, professional and nonprofessional, who love the art of clay.

Christmas Town Dinner and Dance.  7:00 PM – 11:00 PM It is time to welcome the holiday season with this new event at the American 1 Event Center. Christmas Town kick-off is with a Holiday Dinner Dance on Friday, December 3rd at 7 pm. “Elf the Musical Jr.” Springport Middle School presents Elf the Musical Jr.  Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 PM.  Adults $10, Students $5.  Springport High School Cafetorium.

Holidays at the Mann House.  For the first time in 25 years, the Mann House in Concord is decorated for the holiday season! You can visit the home’s first floor during Concord’s Home for the Holidays event, December 3 – 12, 2021.  Museum staff and volunteers began decorating in October. They had a little help from the Concord Fire Department, who carried in and set up the home’s nine-foot-tall Christmas tree. The Mann House opens for special hours during the week, in conjunction with events all over the village!  Friday, December 3, 6 – 8 p.m.  Join the family of the late Marie and Glenn Miller as they host the evening in Marie’s honor.  As the first curator of the Mann House from 1970 to 1990, Marie started the museum’s popular Christmas events.

Holiday Celebrations Exhibition.  The “Holiday Celebrations” exhibition is now on view through December 29  and is free to the public in the main lobby at Ella Sharp Museum.  “Holiday Celebrations” highlights holidays and celebrations around the world and will include displays and hands-on activities about Hanukkah, Los Posadas, Christmas, Kwanza, and more!  Learn more about our current exhibits on view: ellasharpmuseum.org/exhibits/

Community Food and Coat Drive.  The Jackson Community Food Pantry and other local organizations are working to provide much-needed items for the holiday season. Drop off your donations at any of the following locations, or visit our Grand Finale Food & Coat Drive on December 17th in downtown Jackson to make a donation.  Experience Jackson is one of the drop-off locations, at 134 W. Nite Lites Christmas Light Show.  Join us for Nite Lites at Michigan International Speedway! Nite Lites is a drive-thru light display spanning 5-miles across MIS property.  November 25 through December 31.  Michigan International Speedway, US-12 Entrances only, 12626 US Highway 12, Brooklyn, MI 49230 (Westbound use Lot 8 Entrance, Eastbound use Graves Family Entrance).  5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday – Thursday | 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Friday & Saturday.  Cost: $25 per car (Sunday-Thursday), $30 per car (Friday & Saturday), $45 per mini bus, limo, or motorhome, $100 per tour bus.  Cash and credit cards accepted. ARTitude.  ARTitude is an annual pop-up holiday marketplace now open at the Masonic Temple, 145 W. Cortland in Downtown Jackson. We offer a booth-style marketplace for artists to display and sell their work throughout the Holiday season. The marketplace will be open for business through Friday, December 24th. Our regular hours will be Tuesdays through Saturdays 11a.-7p. and Sundays 11a.-4p.

Birthbrite Community Donation Drive-In.  The mission of Birthbrite is to deliver hope and joy to children in foster care.  Birthbrite stocks a wide variety of items for children and families in their foster care closet.  Items are then provided to foster care children and families free of charge.  Items are being accepted now through December 6.  Suggested donations (new items only please):  diapers, baby hygiene products, clothing, shoes, children’s underwear, children’s books, sensory/fidget toys, bath towels, toys.  Donations can be dropped off at Callaghan’s Coffee Cafe, 109 S. Main Street, Brooklyn;  Jaxon’s Playhouse, Summit Oaks Mall, Ferguson Road;  Doll n’ Burgers, 323 South Cooper, Jackson.

Walton Christmas Walk-Thru and Kids Day at Christmas Town.  4 PM – 7 PM.  Kids Day in Christmas Town is sponsored by The Walton Insurance Group.  Jackson County Parks have some exciting things planned for the Holiday season at the American 1 Event Center and Keeley Park! We are partnering with The Walton Insurance Group to present our 1st Annual Christmas Town.  On Saturday, December 4, we are bringing the annual “Walton Christmas Walk-thru” inside the brand new American 1 Event Center! As families weave through the building they will have the opportunity to visit Santa and get their picture taken, pick out a gift for a loved one, build toys in Santa’s workshop and make cookies in Mrs. Clauses Kitchen! We will also have various different crafts for the kids, a station to write letters to Santa, and a Christmas movie and popcorn!  This is a FREE event for families to attend.

MIS Cares Charity Track and Toy Drive.  Donate a non-perishable food item or a new, unwrapped toy in exchange for a drive around the track in your personal vehicle! The event supports the Brooklyn Food Pantry, St Mary’s of Good Counsel Parish Food Pantry, Jackson County Toys for Tots, and Lenawee County Toys for Tots.  Enter off US-12 Highway. Candyland Lighted Christmas Parade.  SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2021, 6:30 PM.  Grass Lake Festival of Lights PARADE &TREE LIGHTING.  Join us for the 11th annual Festival of Lights parade “Candyland Christmas” presented by the Grass Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce and emceed by our very own Ghostrider DJ Joe DeBoe.  Grass Lake Depot, downtown Grass Lake.

Christmas on the Farm.  Waterloo Farm Museum wishes to invite you to experience their 26th Annual Christmas on the Farm. Tour the 1880s farmhouse as it is poised to receive holiday visitors, stroll the grounds to view decorated outbuildings, warm your toes by the outdoor fire.  Indulge in drinks and baked goods at the bakehouse while musicians, carolers, and storytellers entertain you. Demonstrators will share their crafts. Participate in the silent auction. Concessions will be available.  Saturday, December 4 & Sunday, December 5, 2021, 10am – 4pm.  Visit the Christmas Market to purchase your favorite gift items. Wool socks, candles, crafted ornaments, quilts, pinafores, aprons, pottery, goat milk soaps, lip and hand balms, and wooden toys to name just a few. Everyone appreciates food items such as honey, coffee beans, maple syrup, holiday spice tea blends, and Waterloo Farm’s famous bean soup mix. Annual Wine-ter Fest.  Let’s kick off the holiday season, think German Christmas Market here at The Creek!  Cherry Creek Cellars.  12 PM to 10 PM. Outdoor IGLOOs,  German-style bier tent, German cuisine & Gluhwein, Vendor booths with handcrafted goods Noon-500pm,  Firepits,  Live music in the Bier Tent.  Wine-ter Fest Admission is a $5 cover charge per person but will be waived with a new or gently used hat, gloves, or scarf donation. They take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the historic Universalist Church of Concord, right across the street from the Mann House.

Veterans Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Open House.  Open House 4 pm to 8 pm at 10138 Tompkins Road, Rives Junction.  Veterans Christmas Tree Lighting at 5 pm at the corner of M-50 and Woodard Road.  Tompkins Center Historical Society.
