Hanging of the Greens. 7 PM to 10 PM. Spring Arbor University will host the 25th annual Hanging of the Greens! It’s a fun night filled with Christmas music, candle lighting, fireworks, and a community reception that includes horse and wagon rides, balloon artists, kids’ activities, roasted almonds, cookies, cocoa, and more! The event begins with a Christmas concert at The Arbor Church featuring students from the SAU Music Department and a candle lighting ceremony. Fireworks will follow the candle lighting and kick off the community Christmas party. The School of Education faculty and students will provide fun Christmas activities for kids, horse and wagon rides will carry guests through campus, cookies, cocoa and other yummy Christmas treats will be served, and more! All events are free and open to the general public. All ages are encouraged to attend. Parking is available at The Arbor Church.

Jackson College Virtual Adjunct Hiring Fair. Adjunct instructors are part-time college professors who may teach one or two classes each semester or serve as clinical instructors for health programs. Teaching part-time for Jackson College can offer additional income along with the opportunity to share your knowledge with today’s students. The College is in high demand for in-person adjuncts for the following high-need areas: CEP Facilities (St. Louis, Milan, Huron Valley and more), English Composition, Accounting, and Natural Sciences. Additional subject areas are also welcome to apply. Adjuncts are needed for in-person, online, and Corrections Education Program courses across Michigan. Pearl Harbor Day Observance. 2 PM. The Jackson County Veterans Council invites you to join in the 4th annual observance of Pearl Harbor Day. The ceremony will take place at the State of Michigan memorial to the USS Arizona, located in Sparta Foundation Park. Special guest dignitaries and featured Guest Speaker John Wake, USN Commander Executive Officer Talent Acquisition Group-Heartland. Parking is available courtesy of the Cascades Baptist Church.
Tuba Christmas. 3 PM. Celebrate the sounds of the season with Tuba Christmas, a beloved musical tradition returning to Jackson College on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at the Robert Snyder Dining Commons, Potter Center. The concert begins at 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Tuba Christmas brings together tuba and euphonium players of all ages to perform classic holiday favorites in rich, warm harmony.
