Tompkins Center Historical Society’s February Dinner. The Tompkins Center Historical Society’s February dinner will be held on Friday, February 1st, 2019 at Tompkins Center’s Township Town Hall at 9999 Tompkins Rd. ½ mile north of Tompkins Center off of M-50. Between Jackson and Eaton Rapids. On the menu for February will be Ham and Escalloped Potatoes, Salad Bar and delicious desserts. Groundhog Gallop. Registration is now open for the 42nd Annual Groundhog Gallop!! Step by Step is proud to host the 42nd Annual Groundhog Gallop as part of the Orthopaedic Rehab Run/Walk Series. Albion Winterfest. Join us for a full day of winter fun in Albion! Together with our friends, we’re putting on a full schedule of events in Albion on Saturday, Feb. 2nd, including the return of the Cardboard Classic Sled Race! “All of Nothin’” at Michigan Theatre. Celebration of The Underground Railroad featuring the film, “All or Nothin’”, film screening, and book signing. Jacksons Historic Michigan Theatre partners with Michigan filmmaker and author, Charles K Campbell, to celebrate Michigan’s contribution toward eradicating slavery. We will show and critique Charles’s new film, All Or Nothin’ and have for sale the novel (of the same name). and based on a escape. Set in 1853, All or Nothin’ is an epic tale of conviction, hope, and interracial collaboration that reveals the intricately woven web of a network comprised of abolitionists and escape routes we call the Underground Railroad. Winter Warm Up and Bowling Fundraiser. Get out of the cold and come in for a hot time at Suburban Lanes with a Scotch Doubles bowling tournament and Silent Auction benefitting all 15 Jackson County Fire Departments. Tropheys for top finishers, prizes along the way, and of course lunch is included with your entry to the tournament.
