Culver’s of Jackson Grand re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting.  Culver’s of Jackson  remodeled January 27th – 30th. They will open back up on February 1st and celebrate with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ribbon will be cut at 10AM.  Culver’s – 3471 O’Neill Dr, Jackson.

Live Music at Jackson Coffee Company.  7 PM to 10 PM.  Tonight featuring John Louis Good.  Free.  Downtown Jackson.

Tompkins Center Historical Society’s February Dinner.  The Tompkins Center Historical Society’s February dinner will be held on Friday, February 1st, 2019 at Tompkins Center’s Township Town Hall at 9999 Tompkins Rd.  ½ mile north of Tompkins Center off of M-50.  Between Jackson and Eaton Rapids.  On the menu for February will be Ham and Escalloped Potatoes, Salad Bar and delicious desserts. Serving time is from 5 to 6:30 pm in the Tompkins Center Township’s Town Hall.  Take out orders call (517-569-2463) night of the dinner.  Dinner gift certificates available also.  Donation: Adults $9.00  Children Under 12 $5.00  Go to www.tompkinshistorical.org for more info on upcoming events.

Groundhog Gallop.  Registration is now open for the 42nd Annual Groundhog Gallop!!  Step by Step is proud to host the 42nd Annual Groundhog Gallop as part of the Orthopaedic Rehab Run/Walk Series. Albion Winterfest.  Join us for a full day of winter fun in Albion! Together with our friends, we’re putting on a full schedule of events in Albion on Saturday, Feb. 2nd, including the return of the Cardboard Classic Sled Race!  Other events include a Dog Sled Demonstration, Skating Pavillon, Hiking, Hot Drinks, Winter Farmer’s Market, Kids N’ Stuff, Music, Arts and a special screening of Groundhog Day.  You can find more information on Facebook.

Collectible Toy Show.  American 1 Event Center, Jackson County Fairgrounds.  Free parking, food concessions on site.  More than 160 tables.  Admission $3, Children 10 and under, free.  The Show you don’t want to miss!

Girls Night:  The Musical.  This touching and hilarious “tell-it-like-it-is” musical takes audiences on a journey into the lives of a group of female friends. Audience members can’t help but laugh, cry and even find themselves singing and dancing in the aisles as some of the most popular hit songs of the ’80s and ’90s make this musical a fan favorite! Follow five friends as they visit their past, celebrate their present and look to the future on a wild and hilarious night out … and you’ll recognize a bit yourselves in every one of them! GIRLS NIGHT is bursting with energy and is packed with hits “Lady Marmalade,” “It’s Raining Men,” “Man I Feel Like A Woman,” “I Will Survive,” “We are Family” and many more.  7 PM,  Jackson College.  Potter Center, Central Campus.

“All of Nothin’” at Michigan Theatre.  Celebration of The Underground Railroad featuring the film, “All or Nothin’”, film screening, and book signing. Jacksons Historic Michigan Theatre partners with Michigan filmmaker and author, Charles K Campbell, to celebrate Michigan’s contribution toward eradicating slavery. We will show and critique Charles’s new film, All Or Nothin’ and have for sale the novel (of the same name). and based on a escape. Set in 1853, All or Nothin’ is an epic tale of conviction, hope, and interracial collaboration that reveals the intricately woven web of a network comprised of abolitionists and escape routes we call the Underground Railroad.  Saturday February 2, 2019 7:00 P.M./10:00 P.M. 

Winter Warm Up and Bowling Fundraiser.  Get out of the cold and come in for a hot time at Suburban Lanes with a Scotch Doubles bowling tournament and Silent Auction benefitting all 15 Jackson County Fire Departments. Tropheys for top finishers, prizes along the way, and of course lunch is included with your entry to the tournament. Don’t forget to ask about our “side games” for more chances to win great prizes.  $50 per couple or $30 an individual  All proceeds to benefit the Jackson County Honor Society, A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to honoring our local firefighters and supporting the education of our future first responders.  12 N to 5 PM, 3801 Ann Arbor Road, Jackson.

Midwinter Mixer at Ella Sharp Museum.  In 1912, Ella Sharp willed her property to the City of Jackson for residents to enjoy. Join us on our campus on February 2nd as we celebrate the halfway point from the winter solstice to the spring equinox. And for Game of Thrones fans…ever wonder about the strange seasons of Westeros? Why some summers can be so long, but always that “Winter is coming?” Dive into a different world with Hurst Planetarium! Enjoy Vito’s Espresso, a beer tent, bonfires, dog sled demo, live music from Nessa, snowshoeing and more. Admission is free, cash bar and $5 planetarium shows will be available.  5 PM to 8 PM.
