Jackson Symphony Orchestra presents BALLET FRANÇAIS. Join the JSO in downtown Jackson for a program featuring Ravel’s famous ballet Mother Goose. The JSO welcomes Iranian-American harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani for the American premiere of Fernande Decruck’s Les Trianons. Ballet Chelsea dancers join the JSO to dance through this tour of France.  Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM, Sunday at 2 PM.  Weatherwax Hall, Downtown Jackson Details and tickets here.

Made in Michigan Winery Cabaret.  7 PM – 9 PM each evening.  Sandhill Crane Vineyards, located at 4724 Walz Rd, Jackson, will be hosting Center Stage Jackson’s next cabaret! Directed by Jamie Lawrence and Victor McDermott, this cabaret showcases “Pure Michigan” songs about Michigan or will be by Michigan artists like Madonna, Bob Seger, Motown and others. The following dates of performances are as follows: February 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19.  The ticket price is $35 which includes entertainment, a personal charcuterie board, a glass of wine or beverage of choice, and a dessert. The Future of Comedy Show.  7-10 PM.  The Future of Comedy Show at the 308 Brass Rail, 308 W Prospect St, Jackson.  On this episode of The Future of Comedy Show we have another fantastic line up including the dynamic duo of Mike Ball and Big Juicy along with Future of Comedy Show regulars, Steve Kaz and Jason Vest. The Addams Family.  Come see Napoleon Community Schools students perform The Addams Family this weekend!  Show dates: Friday and Saturday, February 10 and 11 at 7pm.  Sunday at 2 pm on February 12.  You can purchase tickets at the door prior to each show.  Adults – $10, Students and Adults 65 and over – $5.  Cash or check only.  Location:  Napoleon High School – the cafetorium is on the back side of the school.

Dinosaur Safari Exhibit at Ella Sharp Museum. Dinosaur Safari, an immersive exhibit for children and families now open at the Ella Sharp Museum. The nearly 2,500-square-foot exhibit features seven animatronic dinosaurs as well as hands-on stations that help children imagine themselves as paleontologists.  The incredible world of Dinosaur Safari features colorful and life-like dinosaurs, including the Triceratops and T. Rex!  In addition to the dinosaurs that move and roar, there is one climbable dinosaur for children to explore. Designed to immerse children in a world of dinosaurs and paleontology, children can play dress up in a safari tent, pretend to drive a safari jeep, and uncover large realistic fake fossils in two dig stations. The imaginative traveling exhibit is produced by Omaha Children’s Museum.  Open during museum hours.

Jerome Washington Pop-Up Art Exhibit:  Precious Moments in Time.  Ella Sharp Museum presents Precious Moments in Time: A pop-up exhibit featuring the art of Jerome Washington during the month of February.  Known to many as Mr. Washington the sketch artist, Jerome Washington has dedicated decades of his life to the community of Albion, Michigan through the vehicle of art. Drawing is not just a hobby for Mr. Washington it is his life’s passion!  Ella Sharp Museum.

MeggaXP’s Blood Bash. Commonwealth Commerce Center on February 11th, 2023 – with a special Film Festival BONUS NIGHT on Friday, February 10, 2023.  209 E Washington Ave, Jackson.  Blood Bash 2023 will be our 6th annual International Horror Film Festival & Convention, and will feature horror films from all over the world! We also will have 40+ horror themed vendors in our vendor room selling anything horror related including prints, posters, shirts, paintings, one of a kind clothing and accessories, random oddities, and so much more! Shadows of the 60’s:  A Tribute to Motown.  7 PM.  Don’t miss an extraordinary evening of captivating music when Shadows of the 60’s: A Tribute to Motown Supergroups hits the stage at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Potter Center of Jackson College! Tickets are on sale now!  Experience the essence of the unforgettable musicians that propelled the Motown sound such as The Supremes, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and The Temptations. In this highly interactive and visually stunning production, Shadows of the 60’s perform the hits that span several decades. Featuring top industry musicians and singers dressed in exquisitely designed costumes and dazzling choreography, Shadows Of the 60’s presents the music of Motown with the intensity of the original recorded performances. Each performer was chosen because they embody the spirit, style and excitement of the original artists in concert. Veritas Tea Party.  Veritas is excited to announce Tea Parties!  Join us at Veritas for a special date with your children or your gal pals.  Each visit will offer a tiered tray of select sweets, croissants, and finger sandwiches to feed a party of four along with a drink menu for your choosing.  We offer two seatings each weekend.  12:00pm-1:30pm or 2:00pm-3:30pm.  Saturday, February 11th – Mommy & Children Tea Day Date. African American Genealogy.  10 AM.  Join us to discover genealogy during African American History Month.  Genealogy Presentation: February 11, 10 AM.  Carnegie Library.  Presented by local historian Laurie Perkins.

Romance in the Stars.  Romance. Forbidden Love. The world of science contains many stories burning with love and reckless abandon! Join the Hurst Planetarium for a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day experience, as we tour Earth, our galaxy, and beyond in search of romance in the stars.  Romance in the Stars is a 90-minute show written and presented live by the Hurst Planetarium, followed by requests from the audience. Each ticket includes admission to the show, two glasses of sparkling wine and a special box of assorted chocolates from Gilbert Chocolates.  This show is recommended for adult audiences.  Date: February 11 and 12.  Time: 6:00 pm & 8:00pm.  Location: Hurst Planetarium (3225 Fourth St, Jackson).  Price: $30 per person.  Details and tickets here.

2023 Jackson College Sportsman’s Banquet.  Doors open and raffles begin at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse, Central Campus. Community members are invited to this evening dedicated to outdoor enthusiasts. There will be a live auction for a variety of prizes — hunting trips, sportsman’s gear, sports memorabilia and more. Hockey Fundraiser to Support Kids with Autism.  The Great Lakes Center for Autism Treatment and Research (GLC) will host the 11th annual Youth Hockey Fights for Kids with Autism event at Wings West Ice Arena on Saturday, February 11 in collaboration with the Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association (KOHA) and the South-Central High School Hockey League (SCHSHL). Over the past ten years, this event has raised over $90,000 to support Autism efforts. The money raised assists families with their out-of-pocket expenses accrued for the evidenced-based therapy recommended for their child(ren) diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder as well as critical program materials. Both are essential for the individuals to reach their full potential leading an independent and vibrant life.Approximately 300 hockey players from kindergarten through college will be playing throughout the event to raise funds and increase autism acceptance in our community. 

The main event will kick off at 10:00am with four action-packed high school hockey games.

2:45 pm Mattawan Wildcats vs Jackson Lumen Christi Titans

5:00 pm Portage Muskies vs Capital City Capitals 

In addition, the KOHA youth hockey program will be playing games on the second rink from 8:00 am – 5:30 pm. The Stallion Hockey Club at Western Michigan University is also joining the event by hosting a game against the Eastern Michigan University Eagles at 8:15 pm. All activities are being held at Wings-West Ice Arena.  You can support the event by participating in the silent auction by placing your bid for an item on https://www.biddingowl.com/SCHSHLor attending the games in person. In-person activities will include Chuck a Puck and raffles.  Event sponsors include Consumers Energy, Hockey Services, Central Reach, Men’s League Sweaters, Milham Park Golf Course, Wings West, Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association (KOHA), South Central High School Hockey League (SCHSHL), Allnex, and Kingscott Associates. Proceeds from the event will benefit youth served at the Great Lakes Center for Autism Treatment and Research.

When you think of astronomy, you might think of Orion the hunter or the story of Andromeda. However, did you know that other cultures have their own constellation and stories for the night sky? The night sky inspires us all and the different ways that we interpret it are fascinating.  Admission includes Museum Galleries and Hurst Planetarium Shows:  Adults: $10, Children up to 17: $5, Adults Over 65 & Military Members: $8, Museum Members and Children Under 5: Free.

Anthony and Shoreline Events are hosting a Galentine’s fresh floral arrangement workshop Sunday February 12th located at Black Barn Vineyard and Winery located in Rives Junction, MI.
